It is rather a travesty. You have to ask, if you can simply delist a stock, stop communicating with shareholders and, presumably, make hay with the assets, what's to protect investors from that happening to any AIM stock?

A few years back Evil Knievel (Simon Cawkwell) met Tang in the Grosvenor Hotel and told him he's "either a crook or an idiot".Watching what's going on now I've made my mind up..... I bailed out a few years ago, lost a 6 figure sum, but my guess is Polo will never come back to the market, Tang is keeping the lot and it's now a total loss for remaining investors.Spights - are you still there? What's your opinion? I always appreciated reading your thoughts when I was a holder.

The fact that GCM were able to do the placing with 'institutional and professional investors' bodes well. They would know that the share price will likely drop to placing price. Hope this indicates a longer term optimism based on inside info.

"They failed and brought the house down"???Really?I perceive it as success in delisting a company which has been used to grab a HUGE slice of gcm.In delisting (and going private) if puts up a huge barrier in the faces of small private investors, minor shareholders, and gets rid of any compliance or regulatory obligations. Nobody will be there to see company meetings, or vote on company matters. They will have free power to do as they please. You kept saying at gcm 'the Chinese are coming' ...indeed they have arrived. Their front man has slowly been paving the way for taking full control of phulbari...and I can bet you anything, that once the call their hand on gcm, and its too late for those shareholders, then suddenly, after so many years of nothing, there will come, out of the shadows, a huge Chinese finance package to develop phulbari.....but it will be too late for shareholders.Do you now see what I've been saying strongly for several years , and more so since gcm were pushed into committing to the power plants in addition to the phulbari mine.

888ICB: You just don't seem to be able to grasp that Tang's approach has always been to pay himself back his investment via a salary and then delist Polo. Phronimos has just sped this up. Their goal was to get Polo to liquidate their holdings and return it to investors thus achieving a return.

If you really are invested in Polo then you deserve to lose your money. A fool and their money are easily parted.

To everybody else invested in this company you have my sympathy.

"We will never get the share price to rise unless we bring in new investors."

I think a lot of people would be happy if there was the chance of a significant share price pump but can you get enough investors to fall for it 888?

Bringing new investors????

Do you mean missleading them as you are trying to do for 12 years.....

Polo’s never been so low. Shows the confidence of the « investors »

I do not think it is in the best interests of the company and its shareholders for Polo and Tang to be continually attacked on this bb. How does that help our investments by allowing it to be portrayed to potential investors and existing investors as a basket case. We will never get the share price to rise unless we bring in new investors. Polo has some good investments and continues to trade a a large discount to NAV which is as disappointing to me as I am sure it is to other investors.
I have said many times that I do not think Tang is without his faults and in particular I think the level of remuneration he has taken from Polo is excessive and not justifiable in any event but particularly in view of the decline in the share price
However Hibiscus is a good investment and it is not Tang’s fault that there has been a global oil price crisis. He has also put great efforts into bringing GCM to a successful conclusion for approval of Phulbari. If that succeeds Polo’s fortunes will be restored as will its share price. He has done a good job of taking it forward without having to raise cash. The consultants have been paid in shares so if they don’t succeed they have effectively been working for nothing. It demonstrates their confidence in success.
The end game with GCM would appear to be close but has been slightly delayed due to COVID. I just don’t think it is in anyone’s best interest to try to remove Tang at this point in time and risk destabilising GCM. The people trying to remove him do not have a plan that has been disclosed to anyone as to what would happen if Tang was removed.
We need people to be constructive in their comments not destructive.
