24/12/2009 09:15 | Doji star and chrisis33 : Doji's post 5983 -- "Wouldn't be surprised to see a big name taking Regent's KAH/PRL/EML shares in one transaction." Fordtin has started a thread on Regent Pacific, epic 575 here. 'HK:0575 has cash HKD 73 million to perform a share buy-back scheme.' Regent's latest declaration. | ppowerscourt
24/12/2009 09:14 | What we do know is directors bought a shed load at 5p. This has to be a good entry point. EXT up 4.6% overnight. | rovers2
24/12/2009 08:28 | The 102M sale was executed at 3.775p,inside the touch, that's going to provide price support.Yet ,if it is Regent Pacific that sold, then that's a one off and doesn't explain the drip, drip selling of recent weeks.Irritatingly ,the FSA are not a stickler for chasing updates on change of holdings.Don't hold your breath,we might not find out the identity of the seller/buyer for awhile. | steeplejack
24/12/2009 07:46 | yea but only Regent Pacific also held the same number of shares in KAH & EML that appeared to have been sold yesterday. | barryrog
24/12/2009 07:26 | fordtin According to IC data(not always accurate) seven of the ten major holders hold more than 102M shares. | azalea
24/12/2009 07:24 | no RNS. im a little surprised. Rio Tinto have got the funds having shifted large chunks of Alcan yesterday to an aussie co. | 2viewer
24/12/2009 07:20 | stu31, depends who bought them and why cos Dattels is no fool. | barryrog
24/12/2009 06:28 | Also, it tells you how many EML shares Regent had in EML's Admission doc (p106). they had 6,515,566 (EML trade yesterday @16:15 6.25p 6,515,566) | doji star
24/12/2009 04:50 | I wonder - does Polo have cash at hand to buy that quantity of shares across EML / KAH and itself? Probably another Dattels company doing the buying? | chrisis33
24/12/2009 01:20 | Dattels is on the board of Regent Pacific. You would have to be certifiable to think he had sold those shares..especially at that price..dyor ;-) | stu31
24/12/2009 01:06 | You're right doji ... Other Investments Regent has six investments of significance: - [edited by me to remove others] Kalahari Minerals plc The Group holds approximately 6.98 million shares in the AIM listed Kalahari Minerals plc (LSE: KAH). Kalahari Minerals is a mining exploration and evaluation group with a portfolio of uranium, copper and base metal interests in western and eastern central Namibia. More information is available on Kalahari's website at www.kalahari-mineral Polo Resources Limited The Group holds 102.04 million in the AIM listed Polo Resources Limited (LSE: PRL). Polo Resources is mining and exploration group focused on investing in or acquiring and developing advanced stage uranium assets. It currently has an investment portfolio of uranium and coal. More information is available on Polo's website at www.poloresources.co | chrisis33
24/12/2009 00:06 | on my way to bed - couldn't resist. Rio Tinto. | barryrog
23/12/2009 23:49 | I'm pretty sure it's them selling. The shareholdings and the KAH/PRL trades seem to be bag on (according to Regent's lastest december presentation). Plus, the 6,515,566 EML trade is too exact to be anyone else. The question is, who have they sold them to? Interesting rns from MARENICA ENERGY. PRL seem to have sold their stake to AREVA. Wouldn't be surprised to see a big name taking Regent's KAH/PRL/EML shares in one transaction. | doji star
23/12/2009 23:17 | we can all speculate but lets wait and see. there has to be an early announcement with 5% of the Co. changing hands in one trade. | barryrog
23/12/2009 23:17 | duplicate removed. | barryrog
23/12/2009 20:41 | re:big trades Regent Pacific had that amount of shares (4.35%) at the start of dec. They had 6,515,566 shares in EML as well :) ........and just under 7m KAH shares. | doji star
23/12/2009 19:24 | OK how about this... If RIO or another big name player were building a stake, would it not make sense to accumulate at lower prices without announcing their interest to the market. Then at a later date, to pull all these holdings together at exactly the same time? This could be achieved by building positions in KAH,EML and PRL via third party investment houses. Is this possible? It would presumably require a matching sell order soon. Just a guess - might be wrong, but I agree with the comment that surely this quantity of shares simply can not have been bought on the open market without a massive boost to the share price | chrisis33
23/12/2009 19:11 | The latest holdings RNS shows that Ingalls and Snyder have built their holding up to over 100m shares over the past few months. | chrisis33
23/12/2009 19:06 | if it was a sell, according to the company website the only company holding over 100m shares as at 2 November 2009 was Chiropo Company SA. For info - the following excerpt is from an Extract Resources publication :- "In this regard it should be noted that Kalahari has entered into an advisory services agreement with Chiropo Company SA ("Chiropo") whereby a success fee is payable in the event of a successful sale of Kalahari or its stake in Extract. Chiropo is beneficially owned in part by Mr. Dattels, a director of Extract. It should also be noted that both Rio Tinto and Polo, Mr. Dattels and associated entities thereof have a material interest in Kalahari." | fordtin
23/12/2009 17:58 | The thing is someone did sell them and someone DID buy them, after the transaction the buy price was a little higher.... AKA Im happy. Even if this was a worked sell the seller has finished. So all is good. | oneeyedjack01
23/12/2009 17:54 | not holding then Humbugg? that would be why your serial deramping of shares across these bbs has found it's way to PRL? if i remember your last post on this thread it was '3p coming soon'. | barryrog
23/12/2009 17:47 | KAH and EML certainly seemed to be buys by the spreads at the time - and it would rather odd if 3 worked sells completed simultaneously. Either change of hands - or just a straight buy I imagine. Guess its just wait and see on the RNS. Chart is looking cracking, incidentally. | chrisis33
23/12/2009 17:38 | cant see that trade being a buy what with the continuous dripping share price. looks like a worked sell order over several weeks, hence the decline imho. | humbugg
23/12/2009 17:24 | EML..KAH...and this one have had large trades all at about same time today so must be news linked to EXT | rawboy
23/12/2009 17:22 | Sorry, am I missing something......a buy on the scale of 102mill and no impact on the share price, I doubt the MM's would hold that much stock!! Can we expect a similar sale amount tomorrow, change of hands perhaps etc | downturn |
