I don't have a holding with ii, my usual front runner for dividends. I assume, also, that iWeb and Barclays will be at the back of runners and riders for paying dividends.

I wrote to the company asking them to improve the reporting of the share repurchase reports.
I pointed out that other companies include in the announcement the total paid in the share buybacks and the total number of shares bought.
I included an example for Lloyds bank , but Capricorn Energy and Nat West also provide this information.
I got no response to the mail and expect no reaction from this post but feel the need no rant on the bad report of shares purchased.

Malcy MGW note - It goes without saying that this is exceptionally good news for Pharos who can now plan for a long-term campaign in Vietnam starting with pressing the button on the farm-out and of course preparing for a drilling process.

Auctus have issued a brief note on yesterday's Licence news. Apologies for the formatting:-

Vietnam licence extension key step to unlocking value • Pharos has been awarded a two year extension to Phase One of the Exploration Period (from 8 November 2023 to 7 November 2025) of Blocks 125 & 126 in Vietnam. • While this was expected, it is an important development. The licence is estimated to hold very large prospects and the licence extension increases the likelihood of the company securing a farm-in partner. • Pharos is also looking for a rig to drill a well next year. • The extension allows Pharos to postpone the drilling commitment by up to two years. Without the extension, Pharos would have been required to pay the minimum US$15 mm commitment or fund a shallow well by November. The extension therefore has positives implication for Pharos’ balance sheet. • We re-iterate our target price of £0.55/sh.

I think we are investing in a different environment now. The future is not so clear. 80p would be a significant gain, not impossible but I think I would be out well below that.

Block 125 & 126 two-year extension approval

Pharos Energy plc, an independent energy company, is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Vietnamese Government for the two-year extension of Phase One of the Exploration Period (from 8 November 2023 to 7 November 2025) of the Block 125 & 126 Production Sharing Contract (PSC).





Jann Brown, Chief Executive Officer, commented:



"We are pleased to have received approval from the Vietnamese Government for the two-year extension of the Block 125 & 126 Exploration Period. This approval shows the encouraging level of support from the Government while we progress our discussions with a number of interested parties to secure a farm-in partner before drilling the commitment well on Block 125."
