Sold some to derisk a bit given good gains elsewhere in the portfolio. My first sell of PFC after buying on 9 occasions since late 2013. A good profit on my last purchase but a meaningful loss on the average purchase price.

Very good advise from NY Boy. Pay heed to it.You can make a big mistake by being in and out to often. Trade by all means but not with your core holding.
I am in for the long haul here. I will trade some but not just yet. The share price is in an uptred today will see where it finishes this afternoon.Patiance required here. GLA.

Best play is to just buy & hold, I have a core hold from 352p, and traded a few more £5-10k chunks and added more on dips.

Now feel more confident, that a. They are winning contracts whilst under SFO investigation (this was one of the original analysts concerns)b.they have declared a divi, albeit cut down, which many expected.

They will win more contracts as their customers will have largely dismissed the SFO investigation.

As far as I see it, the shorts have less and less going for them:

1) The divi is now sorted - still above average and very attractive to income seekers.
2) The SFO story is old, stale news and nothing is likely to happen (if at all) for some considerable time (years).
3) The fear of a large drop in contract wins is - on the now mounting evidence - unfounded.
4) Oil prices are already low - and many pundits expect them to increase.

I reckon they do , any spike they sell into keeping a lid on any rise , the bulls will take control eventually (hopefully) but its a right tussle at the moment

Exactly stoxx67 - a massive fine is already IN the price. So is a large drop in contract wins - which has completely failed to materialise. I also believe IF there is a fine, it will be relatively small (compared to that feared) - hence, imo, PFC at these levels is severely undervalued.There is also a well-above-average dividend (even at the new prudently reduced rate).

this is not and was never going back to 350.

bullish divergence several sessions ago would have alerted the savvy to what was coming, then this coupled with contract wins facilitates an upward move.

People keep harping on about the SFO.... IT IS IN THE PRICE !!! we are now merely waiitng, at some stage, for them to reach a conclusion and a fine (if at all) being issued.

Markets are forward looking, a little time and patience will see very good money made with Petrofac.

IMHO and that of my SIPP and Investment Portfolio , i am waiting for 560 - 604 level as a first target.
