01/11/2018 18:01 | I’m not sure the criticism is justified. They needed money quickly so a placing was the only viable option. LJ acted professionally in my view and did a good job. If I was a shareholder I would be grateful that there is still some scope to get some money back. How profitable PV is (if at all) remains to be seen. It will take months to get any clarity. | topvest
01/11/2018 17:20 | lefrene - Well Walk Café is from another era and yes the place to go if you want some quiet being tucked out of the way from the main streets. | valhamos
01/11/2018 16:45 | Valhamos, I have only been past the one on the High Street, usually about 3pm mid-week, it's always looked quiet. I was unaware of another outlet in Next, as I have no reason to go into Next. I should think that a cafe inside a well thought of retail outlet is the way to go. Although the charges for the location might be a bit steep, the footfall is already in a spending mood, a post retail-therapy session needs a space to recuperate in! I should think anyone who knows Cheltenham would avoid all the chains and go to the Well Walk Café which is charmingly quirky, inexpensive, and everything is home made by the proprietors. Sadly (or perhaps not?), not a model that lends itself to formulaic replication. | lefrene
01/11/2018 16:08 | As Pat Val in Cheltenham has been mentioned, just for the record there are two in Cheltenham, the one on the High St I have always found to be reasonably busy (though I have never been first thing in the morning or late afternoon), for the other one in Next you will struggle to find an empty table after mid morning. | valhamos
01/11/2018 15:50 | And they would have to give up to date financials and have the accounts signed off as going concern, which they can't do even yet 3 weeks later. | eeza
01/11/2018 15:31 | A rights issue has to have a prospectus A placing does not Big difference | rcturner2

01/11/2018 14:16 | Danny Baker Are you connected your surname thats all, lol. | montyhedge
01/11/2018 14:10 | Thegreatgeraldo, the conditional placing shares get admitted to AIM tomorrow but the suspension continues so the new shares cannot be traded on AIM. You cannot under AIM rules have some shares which are admitted to AIM and some not, every single share has to be admitted to AIM. As other posters have said there has to be sufficient information released on the company's financial position for the suspension to be lifted and we are a million miles away from that at the moment. | danny baker
01/11/2018 14:08 | Not allowed to ask about Staff Discount Card due to ongoing police investigation. | harry0
01/11/2018 13:40 | owenski, lol Just wondering if the placees will take a profit straight away, must be tempting. | montyhedge
01/11/2018 13:32 | Has Mr Marsh still kept his staff discount card so he can have a cheaper cake.. and eat it..... No one asks the important questions. | owenski
01/11/2018 13:27 | From the "Result of Meeting" RNS, " The Conditional Placing remains conditional upon Conditional Admission which is expected to become effective at 8.00 a.m. on 2 November 2018." Not sure if this means a trading resumption tomorrow, or that the Conditional shares can be traded from tomorrow, but only when trading resumes? | thegreatgeraldo
01/11/2018 13:20 | montyhedge, I believe it will be saved but in much truncated form, and with the close attention of the previously slack Board there is likely a business to be salvaged here. The "unknowns" are not unknown but were merely hidden from view until very recently. Normality will be the ditching of hopeless stores, improving the ones that are busy and possibly taking a closer look at what they are doing to 'up' their game. I could take you to several villages in the Freiberg area where the coffee and cake shops do a far better job at presentation and quality of product than I have seen in the PV's of Gloucester and Cheltenham! | lefrene
01/11/2018 13:15 | PV, Druckers & Philpotts all offer Barclays Premier Customers one free coffee every day. Presume Barclays were contributing towards the cost of these... Obviously PV weren't earning anything out of this long standing offer - apart from potential sales of cakes. But the freebies would still go through as quantity sold... Maybe Barclays were contributing towards the cost of the offer???? Also maybe Barclays were using this 'verified' data to see how busy PV were when deciding on the overdraft approval?? It's a connection between PV and Barclays... | sikhthetech
01/11/2018 13:14 | #2204 How do you know? | monte1
01/11/2018 13:13 | I just wondering is this just like re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic, seems a lot of unknowns. | montyhedge
01/11/2018 13:11 | monte1, very true, the smoke clears and it's noticed that the miscreants have legged it! Perhaps when the dust settle holders might at least find out who has been fooling who? I suspect that Mr Johnson has been taken in by his bean counters and his own ego. | lefrene
