Had hoped Thomas would tie in with i3 but he's tight; above all a deal maker. I still say he's staying with gas for the time being so reckon a tie up with Cluff on the cheap. He also has his own assets in the Southern North sea. Why not?

I have a sneaking suspicion that there may be a half case on the table then Tournesol!!

I should add that Bountyhunter originally tried to go for 100p but was blocked by the rule that requires a gap of 10p from an existing entry, so switched to 80p - which as of today is the winning entry.

The rules were subsequently amended in line with the Melbourne Declaration and Section 73 of the EU Gaming Act (2018) and entrants were allowed to choose identical bids to those pre-existing.

In view of that change, the referee has decided that Bountyhunter should be allowed to switch his/her entry to 100p if he/she so wishes. That switch would need to be effected within 2 days hereof.

Well that's woken us all up.

Thought it might be worth posting a round-up on the high water mark sweep-stake.

The bets are as follows:-

Manrobert 70
Bountyhunter 80
Tournesol 90
Rickyvader 100
Blobby 110
sharedgain 120
Ziblot 130
pherber 130
jh420 140
robs12 150
chutes01 180
Mallorca 200
Zengas tba

The winner is the person whose chosen figure is closest to the high water mark of the share price by year-end.

The prize is as follows:-

If the winning price is less than 90p then the winner will receive a bottle of wine, If the winning price is more than 90p then they will receive 6 bottles of wine. I used to teach wine tasting and now have a hobby sized wine business so we are talking decent stuff here.

The Serena Williams clause states that: any winner who makes a post here which is deemed aggressive, rude, confrontational or anti-social between the start of the competition and the year end will be disqualified from receiving a prize which will then be awarded to whoever comes second.

Is all of that clear?

If you remember back to GKP heyday a certain mallorca9 bloke did have a speedboat. And a dog. And a wife. Our mallorca9 won't hold his hand up though, for some reason. :D

It's a long term hold though (5 years +) if you want to make 'retirement money' with a cruiser in Palma.
Good luck.

Not rumour I suspect, they've been brewing a deal for a while and were quite clear about what it was back in February RNS - I'll just C&P a post from July:

"One hopes any day now..but it could be months...

Three things going behind the scenes on this (probably many more other things going on about other matters, but just regarding GPA..!):

1) a detailed engineering study for the potential subsea tie-back of the GPA project to the Nexen operated Scott facilities in the Central North Sea - the 'Nexen study'. Subsea 7 and Ingen (a subsidiary of Amec Foster Wheeler) will be providing additional technical expertise during the study.

2) a reservoir study with AGR Tracs International could substantially increase the assumed recovery factor of the oil-in-place volumes at the Perth field, which stands at 197 million barrels of oil (“;MMBblsâ€;) for core Perth and 498 MMBbls including the northern areas of the field. The study is in relation to well fracture stimulation. [I seem to recall this was reported (not by PMG themselves) as taking 10 weeks when it was announced back in Feb, but I cannot find the reference now.]

3) Financing - an invitation to tender was announced to the service provider market, covering the pre-FEED, FEED and subsequent development phases of the project. Parkmead was pleased to report that 13 alliance submissions were received, comprising 35 companies, across all project components of drilling, subsea construction and export route options. After evaluating the proposals, Parkmead is holding onward discussions with a number of leading, internationally renowned service companies.

The majority of the proposals have focused on innovative approaches to the potential development, with significant new work carried out on well planning, timeline to production and financing. A number of the proposals have also offered finance to the Group for major parts of the development, further reducing the capital expenditure required to bring the project onstream.

This is all from the company back in February - so my expectation is for a triple whammy at some point soon (or maybe not.. ;-)) - big reserves upgrade, good news about how cheap, easy and fast it will be to tie into Scott, and a financing deal which will allow it to happen quickly and not dilute shareholders too much. But I may well be wrong - it may not be feasible to tie in, fracturing might not work, and TC pushes too hard a deal for anyone to jump into bed with them! Likely we'll find out fairly soon though IMHO."

Maybe 'fairly soon' really is now fairly soon ;-)

No, I disagree with that. The last spike was due to a rumour about a deal involving Nexen..

If this spike isn't due to a rumour I'll shoot Francine.

There are no rumours - share price merely catching up to where they should’ve been a while back. Stick drifted on low volumes hasn’t taken much to get them back up - now that oil is back up to $80 they’re just playing catch up

Well done Puffet - a profit is a profit.
I however have NO doubt that this will one day exceed £1billion MC - and that is £10 per share.
I'm here until then.

We all know this will happen one day and x 10.
Let's hope we get an announcement though - just to add substance.
PMG are probably working as part of a consortium though, so perhaps news being held.
I can't help but look at the market cap of Hurricane - 20x ours.
Their 1 billion MC is 20 x our market cap !
What potential there is here - and with ex Dana Tom Cross at the helm.
A fortune maker !
