jpardoe, I thought you wanted me to drop it from here? If so then stop asking the questions!

The person who made the comments on RON was using pinkles duff research. Probably more sensible and effective to correct the misconception at source.

I might be missing something, but if the posts are on RON and Pinkle doesnt post on there, what has it got to do with her? from what I have seen, Pinkle made the comment ages ago, then dropped it, might it be better to chase after the person who started it on RON?

SJ: Pinkle is female. The lack of response probably has more to do with the Easter break though....

Anyway, I guess by the lack of response and lack of e-mail that pinkle has decided to carry out the 'threat' So when I'm still posting in a few weeks/months time hopefully he/she'll realise the mistake.

I did comment at the time. The response I got made me think it was a windup. I posted here because pinkle doesn't follow RON.

And anyway, it's not as if this thread is full of research I'm detracting from.

Stew, yes i would, but at the time the comments were made, not wait 2 weeks after it had all died down to drag it back up, if the comments were made on RON, why not keep it there instead of bringing it back here?

Stew

Do you think we could drop all of this, or at least not do it in public? From what I have seen, nothing has been mentioned of it for over 2 weeks, until you dragged it up the other day

SJ:

It seems you're really rattled about this. I've just read through all the posts on here and nobody has mentioned you or your id. If someone has mentioned anything about it on the RON BB, then stick to that thread with your replies, or is the reason you have posted on here to try and get my attention? Personally, I'd forgotton about it, the last time I remember talking to you was on the day the thread was pulled. You seem desperate to find out my evidence. If you're still desperate to prove me wrong, let me know on this BB and I'll pass my evidence onto the FSA and let them take it on. Then we will all find out whether I'm right or wrong. Either leave well alone and stop trying to discredit me because I never bluff, or let's have a full blown investigation. The decision is yours.

Burbelly

Very little action, another MM on the scene hence a slightly tighter spread (ooh err), price hasfallen a bit, risen a bit, fallen a bit again, a few impatient sorts have bailed out, one or two others have increased their stake. To cut a long story short, much ado about nothing. Oh and StewJames apparently invaded Poland, shot Kennedy, drove Sterling out of the ERM and was responsible for devising poll tax.

Anyone care to give me a quick update? Not you Stew!

Stew. In general discussions are dominated by a theme and or a particular bunch of people. If you don't join in with the school gang you will get treated as an outsider. Personally I prefer it when people make useful contributions whatever side of the fence they are on.
There is nothing wrong with being bearish. It is a bear market. Investing is all about judging the market conditions and they just happen to be poor now and most likely will be for some time, and I'm thinking years. The drawback is that you (that's 'you' as a subsiitute for the posh word 'one', rather than you personally) can end up being negative about everything because you see falling shares all the time, with short intermissions. However, that is as natural as being carried away when shares rise unabated for years to a forward p/e of 100000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
BTW, many threads blame short selling as something evil and the root of their losses, but it it's something you do because of the markets inability to make you money from buying, it isn't the cause of it.

The thing is, why are you always Sooooo negative...??? must be a reason to it...

Yes there is, but probably not in the way you're thinking! First and foremost I focus on the question "Without being TOO extreme about it, what can realistically go wrong". That's really is all there is to it. It's probably just a consequence of market conditions recently but things have been nearer the downside picture far more often than not - and that's been true for shares I've both invested in and decided against. Even if I wanted to short shares (which I don't) I don't have the facility available to do it as the vast majority of my funds are ISA protected.

Thanks twohopes. You realise you've probably just condemned the rest of the BB community to putting up with my bearish outlook (it only takes one person I know is listening)? :-)

I'm not fussed about being slated (have to get used to it with my posting style!) but I would like to clear up any genuine misconceptions that might exist. Whatever faults I have I am ALWAYS totally honest.

jbat, I'll happily take it off the board if the others will. Hence the e-mail address.

alec, I honestly don't have a clue about your opinion. All I know is pinkle intimated having found "evidence" of my activities on the now deleted PPB thread which was supposedly sent to you (I thought you two were just messing about) and that you exchange e-mails with someone else today who then immediately made a comment suggesting the same thing. If you were at all serious, get in touch on the above e-mail address and I'll conclusively prove you wrong. If not, then I'll assume in the future you're just joking.
