Posted at 19/6/2009 03:18 by cootuk Looks like OXN will delist from AIM.I can see the company being split into completely separate businesses so one can't bankrupt the others - let the envirox go its own way with Stagecoach at minimum cost, sell the suncream business on as it's fairly generic, and keep the security division to grow as a new separate entity. |
Posted at 20/6/2008 23:14 by cootuk Thanks should go to the posters on iii for that.I've followed OXN but never saw a real time to invest. Martin John Hagen is an ex-director and high up in the FSA, so OXN have friends in high places. Shareholder Percentage of issued shares capital R Farleigh 20.20% Foresight VCT plc 11.82% Income & Growth VCT plc 10.64% BASF Venture Capital 8.96% Alavita, Inc 6.50% Stagecoach Bus Holdings Limited 3.11% Looks like any action would really be more about publicity and a desire for the FSA to be seen to do their job than actually really achieving a change in the Board. |
Posted at 19/6/2008 10:14 by damanko Mr H, trouble is too many false dawns, not a lot of people have any long term faith in Oxonica. After the placing, a lot of positive press in the financial press, IC etc - saying OXN was the only "pure play nanotechnology" listed in London. Then came the Turkish non delight, & a fairly dramatic derating. And here we are now. Trading at about 12% of where it was a couple of years ago.My interest in OXN is through Foresight VCT, which holds 7,734,360 shares, or about 12.5% of the company. Agree with your earlier comment about the price of fuel, shows that (Stagecoach apart) - there doesn't seem to be a great deal of confidence in the commercial benefits of OXN's fuel additive. We'll see if the comments about stuff in the pipeline translates into revenue. |
Posted at 11/6/2008 16:25 by cootuk Aren't OXN in the High Court today? |
Posted at 19/2/2008 07:27 by damanko I still agree with you, though 2 very good pieces of news, from holdings of 12.54% (OXN) & 16.63% (SLG) respectively, should do the Foresight NAV no harm at all. |
Posted at 19/2/2008 07:23 by qs9 will take a look at FTV, but still think OXN offers better upside for next few days (he says hopefully!)>.... |
Posted at 18/2/2008 22:07 by timbo003 Hi DamankoI have edited my last post to provide a bit more detail, I'm very aware of the forthcoming 5p (TAX FREE !) divi for FTV, the ex divi date is feb 29th I think. I reckon todays news on OXN could be described as company transforming, just think, a fuel additive which can improve fuel consumption by up to 5%, the mind boggles! I will buy more foresight tomorrow if the MMs are still asleep. |
Posted at 18/2/2008 21:54 by qs9 Not sure a 3p increase in its NAV for a doubling in share price is the best way into OXN soaring? Surely buying OXN is a better return?Looking forward to press tomorrow, market obviously loved the news so who knows where this is heading.... |
Posted at 18/2/2008 21:22 by damanko Well, interesting day, but with Oxonica you get used to that. I read the RNS just after 7 am this morning, then went to work. Thought both the price and the thread would see some activity during the day. As a shareholder in Foresight VCT (FTV), I expect to see an uplift in its share price, though only if no bad/indifferent news follows. Foresight has 7,734,360 shares in Oxonica, ie a holding of 12.54%. As far as I can see, there was no volume in FTV today, which is a tad puzzling. Today's rise in OXN represents an uplift of a little over 2 million pounds (to Foresight). Yesterday FTV's quoted portfolio was worth seven and a half million pounds, right now it is worth nine and a half million. Should be interesting to see what volume of shares in FTV (and, of course - OXN) are traded in the next few days. Long suffering holders of Oxonica though will be forgiven if they are a little sceptical. Time, as always - will tell............ |
Posted at 18/2/2008 13:13 by timbo003 A cheap way in to OXN is through Foresight(FTV). Foresight own 12% of OXN and are unchanged today at 42-45p. |
