27/9/2007 12:07 | Ovidia Investments P Ovidia Investments swings to H1 pretax profit LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Ovidia Investments PLC, formerly known as NWD Group PLC, swung to a first-half pretax profit as the reorganisation and refinancing of its operations helped it to significantly reduce administrative expenses for the period. The marketing services company posted a pretax profit of 2.81 mln stg for the first half ended June 30 compared with a loss of 457,000 stg a year ago. Administrative expenses declined to 4,000 stg from 2.88 mln stg. Ovidia said it raised 70,000 stg in cash by placing 7.0 mln shares and also issued 2.5 mln new shares to satisfy its convertible loan note holder under the company voluntary arrangement. The funds raised under the share placing will be adequate to meet ongoing operating expenses, the company added. TFN.newsdesk@thomson yos/tsm/slm | silkcut03 |
