I agree, RE: RNS regarding opening an envelope.

CSEM contracts would be very good indeed.

well at least we know they don't RNS the opening of an envelope

RSI is a solid business

we could do with the CSEM side of the business starting to show it can win some large contracts i am sure it is just a matter of time

EMGS forecasts profit for 2010 due to signed contracts and E&M upturn. OHM performance tends to mirror theirs. Both running two ships, OHM on better terms but EMGS with better reported contracts. Could do with an announcement or two from OHM but at this price Rock Solid Images is undervalued and CSEM is carried for free.

slide on page 8 is interesting demonstrating tendering activity

MARKET UPDATE
Increased activity in contract market
Relatively high tendering activity
Most of EMGS's contracts are won through direct awards
E&P spending surveys indicate increased activity in 2010

EMGS out with results and a presentation today.

You do think that if they can get $5m and $7m contracts this company being valued at £5m is a bit of a nonsensical situation.

Important events in the fourth quarter 2009:

* Total revenues at USD 7.0 million for the quarter
* EBITDA loss of USD 18.7 million
* Data-licensing agreement with Rocksource in the Gulf of Mexico
* 3D EM survey worth USD 5 million awarded in the Caribbean
* Successful completion of private placement of 30 million shares at NOK 4.50
per share

Subsequent important events:

* Appointment of Dag W. Reynolds as Executive Vice President of Sales,
Marketing and Business Development
* First joint EMGS - Fugro 3D EM Multi-Client project initiated in the
Norwegian Sea
* Successful completion of subsequent offering of 4 million shares at NOK 4.50
* Contract worth in excess of USD 7 million awarded by Rocksource in Norway

This changes the game as far as OHM is concerned, especially 3D and possibly 4D aquisition, technologies that have been the subject of some dispute between EMGS and OHM and others.

There was a lot in the Paper version of The Times about the Falklands too. Whole page devoted to it.

The imminent arrival of a rig in the Falklands is creating a bit of publicity.

This bit appears in the FT contribution. :-

"In horse-racing, bookies can give you the odds, but we can't do that," says Tim Bushell, chief executive of Falkland Oil and Gas.
"We put a lot of science into our work, but it is not an exact science. These are things that can only be found out when drilling starts.

bones, they aren't trying very hard to sell here.
I want to buy - but not with the massive spread.

Its looking as though Lehman's stake in SKR just changed hands. Perhaps OHM could be next?

Very interesting article from respected journal. Augurs well for both OHM and EMGS, just the sort of report I've been waiting for.

The average success rate for exploration wells is significantly increased if the hydrocarbon prospect exhibits a resistive anomaly, a new study in The Leading Edge indicates. The article evaluates results from wells drilled on prospects or fields covered by CSEM (Controlled Source Electromagnetic) data. The key finding is that the average success rate for exploration wells drilled on prospects with a significant CSEM anomaly is 70%, whereas it drops to 35% for wells drilled on prospects without a significant CSEM anomaly.

elban been buying for months ...started topping up just before placing over 20p...and then share price kept sliding down??? a few large sell trades came out in december i think and we thought end of overhang but pattern started again..now sitting on 500k...some will be settling february so happy to wait out the mm's..ie either seller finished and they want to see if i will pay up..or have a seller who wants to sell abover 7p???...so now wont be buying any unless share price cracks to a silly level or we start to get a sustained rise...have a look at ldp and see the mm's behaviour over the period after placing...they have played 3 times now the game of overhang cleared to then take it down and trap more people in..eventually people stop buying and the mm's will find they get no trading...so will do same here until we get news off contrcats/directors buying/seller out...no longer buying...lol and certainly not selling...hope this like iae rose form 12p start of 2009 to over 80p by yera end...hoping we get a similar multibagger over the year. gl

again old but interesting considering the new and building falklands campaign

BHP will pay approximately 68percent of the costs of the near term work programme on the acreage, including the drilling of two exploration wells.

This is a very important development, not just for FOGL as it tries to woo energy majors into taking an interest in Falkland Islands exploration after a gap of 10years, but for a geophysical technology that is perhaps only now coming of age as a resource-hunting tool. In short, BHP might not have taken the risk it has in the South Atlantic, had there not been the double comfort of FOGL having carried out both conventional seismic and controlled source electromagnetic resonance (CSEM) sweeps over its acreage.
Bear in mind, that the first Falklands exploration drilling campaign comprising five wells drilled by Amerada Hess, Shell and others was both short and disappointing, despite the seismic work carried out in response to by optimistic noises from British Geological Survey regard the richness of source rocks.
