03/11/2017 13:19 | Perhaps they think they've all got jobs for as long as they want them, at a cost to the shareholders of course. | netnut
03/11/2017 09:00 | It's so sad to see the same blinkered "strategy" losing another £1m of value - so much complacency, so little quality thinking by the board. Is there nobody who can make David see alternatives? I tried - and failed. | profdoc
03/11/2017 08:16 | same old story here. | battlebus2
03/11/2017 08:00 | " Based on the continuing strength of the group's debt free tangible asset base, the board is proposing to pay an unchanged final dividend of £0.1 per share " I assume the directors here do know that 0.1 pounds = 10p idiots | spob
09/10/2017 21:58 | Think the idea is to drive the price lower so the family can just buyout the remaining shareholders on the cheap...external shareholders seeing price going down becomes a self full filling prophecy.... | diku
30/8/2017 08:46 | I agree, Arthur. I take a look at these every year and always decide against. | cjohn
09/4/2017 14:20 | I sold out of these some time ago for a tiny profit, nearer breakeven really. There seems to be no point buying these shares whilst the family are happy to keep running down shareholder value on a failing business. I thought when they recruited a Director with a property background they were maybe coming to their senses but it doesn't now seem so. I'll keep watching for a change in stategy but I'm not tempted to buy back in even with the large discount to some quality assets. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
27/3/2017 09:49 | That really is strange. Everyone that wants to sell must already have done so and only left with the hard core holders! | cwa1
27/3/2017 09:40 | At the time of writing the quote on this stock has gone up! What!! | netnut
27/3/2017 07:41 | Another bloody awful set of results with the chairman asking for patience!! | hybrasil
29/12/2016 21:14 | Buying here is like paying for insiders lifestyle!... | diku
20/12/2016 17:28 | Hi hybrasil Yes I just got tired of waiting for them to realise the value rather than watch it disappear on a failing business. They make losses every year yet never want to give up. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
20/12/2016 16:28 | Im sorry to see Arthur Lame sell out of these. I have been involved here for about 13 years (and the shares were I thought cheap when I bought them) - I am down about 50%. There probably is an average down argument but they have been so dull I dont think I could bring myself to. There has been no update on the property valuations | hybrasil
03/11/2016 12:12 | Its a large holding ego thingy... | diku
01/11/2016 00:03 | I also sold out of here as they show no signs of returning the assets to shareholders and are happy to continually make losses on a failing business. I thought the appointment of a director with significant property experience might herald a change of direction but I was wrong. Arthur | arthur_lame_stocks
31/10/2016 17:22 | Hi Glen, I also reviewed the results here and saw no reason to regret having exited this investment. Breakeven still seems very far away, let alone an acceptable return on capital employed. It is a shame that so much value could sit idle for so long but there is nothing that can be done about it. | rndm355
31/10/2016 15:26 | The same old story - only worse this year. Maybe they'll breakeven in a couple of years. Maybe. Glad I'm out of this one as David Phillips shows no sign of stopping the throwing of good money after bad. I wish those of you still hopeful that the directors will return the £20m+ (68p) of shareholders' funds the best of luck. I, together with some others, tried to persuade them - and failed. 26/7/2016 09:24 | Anyone know anything about John and Sarah Rockliff who declared a combined holding of 1,000,000 shares in March? | sleepy
26/7/2016 01:37 | Nothing going on here, I attended a few AGMs. Management in denial about the economics of the industry. They just enjoy owning a company. The son is working there now so it might continue indefinitely, assuming they can eventually get back to break even. Tempting to think you could get a return of capital or a special divi some day but chances are slim that it will be any time soon. Dividend cut this year was a bad omen. | rndm355
25/7/2016 22:12 | Only holding a small amount for sentimental value as I started the thread. I sold up months ago. Keeping a watchful eye though. | battlebus2
25/7/2016 21:57 | ah battlebus Are you here too? I bought a few shares today but there does not seem to be any stock around hence the rise. | hybrasil
25/7/2016 21:08 | Seems to have bounced of the bottom?? | battlebus2
22/3/2016 19:00 | After 22 March | sleepy
22/3/2016 00:31 | After 21 March | sleepy
15/3/2016 09:19 | Yes - they have been getting progressively later 2012 - 21 February 2013 - 27 February 2014 - 7 March 2015 - after 20 March (edited not foretold!) | sleepy |
