01/3/2007 06:20 | MCAP 2/3rds of NAV. Cash accounts for nearly half of that cap (£9m). Planned return of a prudent amount to shareholders. I would prefer to see that by way of buyback. Looks solid with no debt. | hybrasil
23/2/2007 12:52 | Still think I'm right about good value at current levels...time will tell, but NAR has a profitable cash generative history! In effect, I believe that even handing back their cash to shareholders,it will produce more...in other words their Business is worth something! I understand their cash balances have risen as high as £14mln within the last year! regards | rainmaker
19/2/2007 19:00 | This makes 5. Anyone looking for more excitement can ring up the Chairman and ask him how much the payout will be and when it will happen | sleepy
19/2/2007 17:57 | Well we all live in hope ! | masurenguy
19/2/2007 17:25 | 3 in one day today. Perhaps life is about to get more exciting! | sleepy
19/2/2007 16:50 | 95 posts in 2.5 years, it's never been exactly busy here. | arthur_lame_stocks
19/2/2007 13:02 | It's gone extremely quiet!! regards | rainmaker
25/1/2007 19:15 | I rate this share as possibly the most boring ever! One trade a day is not exactly the most exciting is it? 3 purchases and no buys in 10 days. Anyone got any thoughts on future direction? Any thoughts on the buyback program? | sparkey1
15/1/2007 17:26 | my other suspicion was that you might have been active! | hybrasil
12/1/2007 17:27 | Don't think so! | sleepy
12/1/2007 14:41 | I suspect we will see an rns to the effect that the co has bought that 275k traded today | hybrasil
09/1/2007 13:25 | Would say that as a general rule, Northamber should ideally purchased at a discount to it's Net Working Capital and not a premium regards | rainmaker
09/1/2007 13:20 | Starting to edge up-don't say I didn't tell you! regards | rainmaker
27/12/2006 13:39 | Hi all-My decision to buy is based on the fact that NAR is historically v cheap and has a good history of profitability and is cash generative. Allied to this the Co is heavily cash positive-almost half the current Market cap and management are quietly positive about future prospects subject to the normal caveats about market and general economic conditions.A fairly obvious buy despite IC's sell recommendation regards | rainmaker
15/12/2006 14:11 | Rainmaker - be very interested to read your view on their prospects. Do you hold ? | masurenguy
15/12/2006 13:06 | Hi Rainmaker - thanks for your post. I would be delighted to learn more. | sleepy
15/12/2006 13:00 | Having done my research, strongly believe at current levels(66/68) NAR is a buy-don't expect a multi-bagger merely a good return within two years. Will explain more later if anyone wants me to......Note that it has moved up this morning regards | rainmaker
30/11/2006 12:33 | Hi-Sleepy-Absolutely no idea. More interested in gaining a sense of typical earnings/earnings power and looking for a significant margin of safety at current price + inherent safety in large cash balance.Think there is an opportunity but will let you know more later regards | rainmaker
29/11/2006 15:27 | Rainmaker - any idea how much cash they may return? And how would they do it? | sleepy
29/11/2006 13:58 | Feel there might well be an opportunity here-Scripo, I fully appreciate your point about price deflation of 15/20% but the Company has a high stock turn so much less of a problem that you suggest and is (or at the very least has been) cash generative-I believe current balance is about £10mln but has been as high as £14mln v market cap of approx £20mln. Management definitely of "the empty glass" variety but they are quietly confident subject to the larger Economy and this sector. Am currently researching further and will let you all know exactly what I think in the next few days regards | rainmaker
07/11/2006 12:33 | So what caused todays uptick ? Virtually no shares traded so far today ! | masurenguy
25/10/2006 13:03 | ticking up a bit so thought id snaffle a few more. | feedthegoat
05/10/2006 10:15 | with the sale of the investment property and plan to return surplus cash to shareholders it almost looks as though they are planning a sort of controlled liquidation of the business ... the balance sheet (NTAV 99p a share) has no goodwill and is nearly all current assets so maybe they reckon the best way of getting value for shareholders is to gradually run the business down over a few years down while maintaining modest profitability and distribute the cash released out of working capital to shareholders in the process ... i am sure philips must want an exit pretty soon and maybe that is the best way they can see of getting the asset value out of the business ... | reggieperrin
05/10/2006 08:44 | Poor results again I see. | scripophilist |
