                       Notification of Interest in Shares

Jarvis Porter Group PLC (the "Company") yesterday received notification from
North Atlantic Smaller Companies Investment Trust PLC that, following the
purchase of an additional 220,500 shares on 12 December 2003, it is now the
beneficial owner of 8,750,000 ordinary shares of 10p each in the capital of the
Company. This represents a notifiable interest of 18.24% of the Company's issued
share capital.
