  Posting of documents in connection with the proposed new performance-based   
                           share plan ("Share Plan")                           

As announced on 30 May 2008, New Star Asset Management Group PLC ("New Star")
is today posting to its shareholders a circular (the "Share Plan Circular")
setting out the details of the Share Plan, together with a notice convening a
General Meeting to be held on the 20 June 2008.

The following documentation, is available for inspection during business hours
at New Star's registered office and at the offices of Pinsent Masons,
Citypoint, 1 Ropemaker Street, London EC2Y 9AH on any weekday (public holidays
excluded) until the close of the meeting, and will also be available for
inspection at 1 Knightsbridge Green, London, SW1X 7NE from 9.30 a.m. on the day
of the General Meeting until the conclusion of the meeting:

 a. the rules of the Share Plan;
   
 b. the trust deeds of The New Star 2008 Employees' Share Trust (No. 1) and of
    the New Star 2008 Employees' Share Trust (No. 2); and
   
 c. draft call option agreements between New Star and the Trustee of each of
    the Employee Benefit Trusts named in (b) above.
   
Copies of the Share Plan Circular, the notice of the Company's General Meeting
to be held on 20 June 2008 and the associated proxy card have been submitted to
the UK Listing Authority Document Disclosure Team and will shortly be available
for inspection at the Document Viewing Facility which is situated at the
Financial Services Authority, 25 The North Colonnade, Canary Wharf, London, E14
5HS.
