04/7/2006 17:58 | For info. The FSA have now approved the regulatory change of controller. The Millfield assetts have therefore now been purchased by The Money Portal, which will merge the newly aquired assetts with its existing IFA advisory business already owned by the Group. (Bates) Sage continues to operate as a separate entity but now owned by The Money Portal. The purchase is now complete. The merged advisory business will trade as "Bates Millfield", using new documentation from today. This transaction secures continuity for advisers, staff and clients. Goodnight to MIL shareholders | twix386
04/7/2006 16:06 | The same team behind MIL have already found a reincarnation in Fosters IFA (or similar sounding) in Weybridge. So General Portfolio continues .... | handycam

03/7/2006 16:08 | I can hear a large lady again and this time I think she really is going to give us a tune. Admittedly I have said this before but in my defence it has never improved and is now surely beyond redemption. | darth v

03/7/2006 12:16 | but of course ur right on all that twix, and elsewhere is certainly beter than here!!...but i find myself strangely drawn here, something tells me we havent seen the end of the whole story, even though ive certainly seen the end of my money!!! and i like the "self belief is the king of truth"......i just wonder what the Ace is.... | paulkent
03/7/2006 09:59 | Paul, Admire your faith and never giving up style, but I think I have heard the end story and probably time for a write off and look elsewhere. One thing that does seem to be obvious is that the bosses at MIL have never really had shareholders best interest at heart. Christ, they have not been any better than the public's long held perception of this industry of PR, Bull5hitters, too often with self interest as their motive and paying cursory attention to fact finds with regualtion as a troublesome obstacle and viewed soley as a necessary but unwanted hurdle by salesmen/women struggling to meet tough internal sales targets. After all, commission is the king of advice and self belief the king of truth, until the money finally runs out and the pack of cards comes tumbling down. | twix386
03/7/2006 09:36 | well that could certainly explain the mysterious delay since last monday...although i wouldve thought that everything relevant would have had to have been disclosed..maybe this will give more time though for other parties to be involved?..if MPL still hasnt gone into administration, then the Directors (not administrators) are still running it and should surely be still trying to get the best result for shareholders (not creditors), which the money portal deal definitely WASNT!!!! | paulkent |
