If they were in serious trouble they would be talking about selling assets not re-opening the diamond mine in SA. This is probably just a bit of insurance because they know they have to keep things on an even keel until the smelter is up and running next year. If Nickel drops further they will have some cash in the bank, but if it goes up they can spend the money on Klipspringer and say that was always their intention.

All points to loss making at the moment. It's not a great ammount of cash but a lot of shares coming. The price of nickel has clearly pushed us to load making for the moment.Gold is not a great concern as it's holding quite well around breakeven. But nickel price has halved since its peak.I thought we had cash in the bank, but clearly they need this money raised to continue.Should've left Mpinga at the helm as not only cash is the problem but also Zimbabwe and Zanu-pf had warmed to him. All I see with the new directors is trouble ahead.Oh well.Assets are still great.

No, after reading up on this guy im VERY CONFIDENT that the right person departed.

The guys a rogue and not very well respected.

Kalaa saw the guy off before he could do his damage.!!
Im sure things went on that none of us know about. And the rest of the board have clearly backed Kalaa so that tells you all u need to know.

Expect a rerating soon"

As ex head of corporate finance head at Ambrian,he probably was able to arrange and negotiate terms with Cantor Fitzgerald.
Now that has been achieved, perhaps Ning now thinks that the 31 year old Hung is of more use ?
Presumably Hung's holding was bought from Ning.

Same as now then, people grasping for the truth and failing to get hold of it.

Not for the first time, it seems that my attempt at humour on ADVFN has failed. I thought the expression well-hung was familiar to most. But regarding Mr Wellesly-Wood, I seem to remember his departure was generally welcomed at the time. Does anybody remember the date, and, if so, know how to look again at this Board's discussion on the matter?

Why would he not have been popular in Zimbabwe juju ? Do you know why he was sacked first time around ?
I would have thought further consequences of the disastrous Dearing . Does anyone know who was paying Dearing ? or who if anyone is underwriting his losses ?
Or was Dearing simply working selflessly for the greater good ? (but didn't realise the obvious consequences of his actions).

Mugabe may have told Hung to get rid of him or someone might have threatened him . He would not be popular in Zimbabwe

I would laugh only if his first name, or even nickname, was Well.

But, seriously though, someone has purchased a million at 1.2p, after hours.

Don't forget yesterday's appointment of (Now don't laugh, this name is not a wind up) Ching Fung "Brian" Hung (I told you not to laugh), as a Non-Executive Director.

Never a dull moment on the MWA board!

Mwana Africa PLC announces that Mark Wellesley-Wood, non-executive director of the Company, has today given notice that he will retire from his position on the Board of Directors with effect from the conclusion of the forthcoming annual general meeting on 29 September 2015.

The Mwana Board has expressed its considerable gratitude to Mr Wellesley-Wood for all his work on behalf of the Company during what has been a challenging period of transition.

Executive Chairman Yat Hoi Ning, announcing the resignation, commented: “It is with deep regret that we received the news of Mark’s intention to resign from the Board of Mwana. Mark has provided unstinting guidance and support to the Company during the transitional phase following the changes in the directorate arising from the Extraordinary General Meeting in June. Our Board of Directors values the input and guidance he provided on a wide range of governance and operational matters. On behalf of the Board of Directors and the entire Company, I should like to express our sincere gratitude to Mark for all his services in recent months, and to acknowledge his invaluable contribution to the Company during this time. Moving forward, Mark has generously agreed to continue to support the Company in a consultative capacity, and we will discuss the details of his continued support in the coming weeks.”
