30/6/2007 11:17 | Hi Rivaldo, I came across the article and have a dug a little. The Elpro acquisition looks to be a very neat fit. Forward p/e is not outrageous. Are you a holder? Regards SIMON | simon gordon
30/6/2007 09:28 | From today's FT - interesting article. MTI should benefit on Monday - and it's ISAble too: "How should investors behave in uncertain times like now? A good strategy is to invest in rapidly-growing companies that are strongly positioned in specialty markets. These have the best chance of defending profit margins in tough times. A good example is MTL Instruments, a small company which is a major player in the development and supply of safety explosion protection devices. In an increasingly safety-conscious world, this sector is growing in importance. MTL has been riding high in recent years with double-digit increases in turnover and earnings. A small but steadily rising dividend adds frosting to the cake. Best of all, the small size of the company caused it to slip under the radar screens of some City analysts." | rivaldo

14/3/2006 10:23 | Yep. You get these kind of wild fluctuations because Robbie Burns writes about the stock, so an army of weak holders piles in, and then piles out. After the spread, and the fact that MM's read newspapers and will push the price around accordingly, is it really worth them doing this? I duno. Those of us who have held long-term have seen this sort of thing before. | shuisky
14/3/2006 08:21 | Bit of a retracement from the 500+ level to current 480. Looking for a second test of 500p soon. Bought these below 400 and believe they look good for 600 IMHO. If they drop to 460 they are a screaming buy! | flush gord
20/2/2006 15:18 | this has the feeling of a major re-rating lovely hold since '03 | artful dodger

20/2/2006 11:02 | Maybe the market makers know the results are going to be good and are trying to get some stock before the results. Well see if they bump it down again a bit later to shake some profit takers. | geovest
20/2/2006 10:32 | I have no idea, but I hope it hasn't received a rag sheet tip. | shuisky
20/2/2006 10:01 | rising heavily on such small volume..what is happening guys!? | gswredland
16/2/2006 14:07 | thanks geovest | gswredland
14/2/2006 16:44 | gswredland - date not yet announced, last year was 25/3 so it should be around then. markycrispy - I agree that the investment in oil and gas will continue for a few years, which will be very good for MTL. | geovest
12/2/2006 11:56 | I bought a little while back some shares in MTI(MTL Instruments) when they broke thru £4. Have since risen on small volume.I know this company well and when the oil and gas market is strong globally they do well. It looks to me they will continue to progress as oil and gas are set to keep activity up for the next year or so. DYOR but it looks like a goody.I got in at £4.14p via a spread bet. The first opened on them by IG Index. | markycrispy
10/2/2006 16:28 | Anyone know a date for results please? | gswredland
21/12/2005 12:31 | Strangely though the sells outnumber the buys. | evanick
