Hays plc - Statement re OFT Submission

Hays plc announces that, following receipt of a number of indicative offers for
Hays IMS, it has now short-listed a number of potential purchasers, both trade
and financial, to admit to the second stage of the sale process.  Hays confirms
that Iron Mountain Europe Limited ("IME"), a UK joint venture between Iron
Mountain Incorporated and Mentmore Plc, has today chosen to submit a Merger
Notice to the Office of Fair Trading pursuant to the Fair Trading Act 1973.  The
submission of this notice represents the first stage for this particular party
in obtaining merger clearance in the UK for a potential acquisition of Hays IMS,
but does not indicate that agreement has already been reached with IME or any
other party for the sale of Hays IMS or that any such party has been selected as
the preferred bidder.
