Posted at 29/5/2023 12:09 by jo2362 @WallyStocks do often fall on sentiment alone, the fundamentals as far as we know haven't changed! Obviously the current environment for companies refinancing debt has become unfavourable, however, with all this being taken into consideration, the share price now being lower than in the midst of Covid when we had no vaccines and no end in sight as to when operators would be able to re initiate their operations is absolutely absurd. Furthermore, the current situation with train drivers, indicats a long battle ahead (they have just been re balloted), this plays favourably for NEX. I, personally, will no sell a single share below a range of 180-190. I'm also invested heavily here, 1/3rd of my portfolio to be precise! Investing in individual stocks is not for the weak minded, we must remain strong and not be guided by emotions! The company last trading statement was positive, that's all we know so far, to try and guess the reasons why the share price is down without further information is a mug's game. The other thing we do know is that international investors see the UK as a basket case, this whislt negative, means its not a company specific issue! These are my reasons for holding NEX and possibly adding more on pay day! |
Posted at 28/5/2023 06:27 by wallywoo The ftse250 today is around 18790. At the height of the covid fall (when the Nex share price fell to 111), the index was around 14700.So the fall is certainly not all down to the general market falls. This is because the market thinks debt is too high for the higher interest market that we live in. And that with all the other costs increases that Nex have, they will be unable to pay off enough without a equity issue or selling assets. That is the sole reason for this fall. |
Posted at 26/5/2023 07:06 by buffettjnr Paying a dividend from this company is braindead. Whoever wants a dividend from NEX is braindead. If management decides to pay another dividend they are braindead. The allocation of capital should be: 1. Pay down debt 2. Buyback stock |
Posted at 26/5/2023 06:43 by wallywoo So far, all we have is a share price falling with the overall market. The market thinks that Nex may need an equity issue. Personally, I think it is unlikely (but wdik). The short% is just over 2%, so the market are not sure either (would be higher if they were). Added yesterday for that reason. What we really need is a H1 trading statement, due in the next couple of weeks. It is likely any statement will include a note on whether a h1 dividend will be paid. That should draw a line under these falls. |

Posted at 19/4/2023 07:19 by wallywoo Downtrends always go too far before they reverse (especially large falls like nex has been on for 2 years from 308). I think nex has been over sold. This business has less mkt cap than first group (fgp) now. This is a much better business with the ability to generate much better cash, and therefore dividends. I still think H1 dividend will be paid and a good amount (estimate 5p again). That makes nex crazy good value at this price imho. |

Makes you wonder if they give a toss about shareholders. |
Posted at 13/4/2023 08:27 by wallywoo Blimey, I set off a load of aggressive responses with my last post!!! LolSeriously, it's not really surprising because the short percentage is fairly high here. That always seems to bring out the idiots on BB's. Buying this now is bottom fishing, always expect loads of volatile movements and an angry BB for the next few months. I am leaving this well alone now. If I am right, then Nex will come up with another good dividend in H1 (5p again maybe). Then I think we could have a nice bear squeeze and the share price will motor. You have to be brave to buy down here, but the rewards could be great. Dyor wtfdik! |
