Earliest production possible is late 2010, coming drill season is proving up further resources in the main -- both the Yanfolila and Sankarani areas have an aggressive programme this season.

Sorry I've been out of touch, are they test holes or are they actually drilling to start extracting gold?

Expect to start drilling from Oct 15th earliest to end Oct latest -- rigs are booked and virtually on their way, only 9 days away from possible drilling start so would expect drilling to commence very shortly.

Nice post.

In freefall still on very light volume. Wonder how low they'll actually go.

Amazing how much this has been marked down on relatively light volume. Doubt a good JORC or gold at $1000 will help in the current market...judging by the small value sells its mostly PIs getting out, they must be in bad shape to sell at such a low price when clearly the company has many positives and is very undervalued - in fact when the new JORC resource estimate comes out we could well be looking at single figure $/oz value for in ground resource (edit - that's probably a bit of an exaggeration but makes the point).

With battered share prices and a credit crunch many juniors are struggling to even stay in business as access to funds is just not feasible/possible. I really wouldn't like to see GEX raise 4 mil at 4p :/

One positive is that GEX will survive as it has Goldfields looking over its shoulder...of course, it would be preferential if they weren't a white knight solution.

Looks like central bank selling of gold will be very light in the coming year?

Val,

The GEX Chairman stated at the AGM that it was likely to be October before the JORC's were available for release. IMHO they will be worth the wait (weight?).

Theres potential for good news in other areas too in the lead up to Xmas.

Can you emphasise how much it would be appreciated in the near term if you are speaking to anyone in charge or close to them. Three years of optimism, hope and prayer is looking exactly like hope and prayer from this pov just now.

Get them JORC's sorted!

There seems to be lots of small sell trades driving price with groups of sells coming in close order and knocking the price down, whether this is shorting, throwing out the baby with the bathwater or once again our favourite chums the market makers manipulating price for their own profit becomes more of a short term issue than an issue for real investors over the long term. ( rather than the short termism that pervades at the moment )

We have gone through the rainy season and start an aggressive drilling programme in a couple of weeks, a JORC on it's way and a strong gold price which is likely to increase. In short the fundamentals seem to have improved if anything so more of a buying opportunity.

RAB news also is a big positive for the sector as a whole.

Notice that RAB has survived with a lockin for 3 years.
Apparently this may have averted a sell off of the small miners, perhaps upto 400 holdings,

Am I seeing right -- no shares traded, down 0.12p.

Wow -- what would the mm's do if a few shares were actually sold !!!!!

NB. Stayed flat yesterday on buying of 132k.

i suppose you have all seen MCR today , just goes to show what bad management can do to a small mining operation, had to sell off half the co today for funding to stay afloat, crying shame for the PIs, sorry off top but its a lesson in taking a mine to production to early and not covering all the bases, probably caused by under funding in the first place and taking a chance that a possibly bad event will not occur--- and then it does, again sorry off top

Just a pity the interview or transcript isn't posted on a more open source such as sharecrazy
