24/11/2022 13:12 | Bold moves with recession looming in their main markets. Good on them! The acquisition looks a decent little business but the synergies are not obvious. Wonder why the owners wanted to sell | makinbuks

24/11/2022 09:35 | "Michelmersh Brick Holdings Plc (AIM: MBH), the specialist brick manufacturer, today announces that it intends to commence a share buyback programme in respect of its ordinary shares of 20 pence each ("Ordinary Shares") up to a maximum consideration of £3.0 million from the date of this announcement (the "Share Buyback Programme"). The purpose of the Share Buyback Programme is to reduce the share capital of the Group in order to return value to shareholders. Michelmersh announces that it has entered into an irrevocable non-discretionary instruction with Canaccord Genuity Limited ("Canaccord") in relation to the purchase by Canaccord, acting as principal during the period commencing on 24 November 2022 and ending no later than 27 February 2023, of Ordinary Shares for an aggregate consideration (excluding expenses) of no greater than £3.0 million and the simultaneous on-sale of such Ordinary Shares by Canaccord to Michelmersh, where they will be held in treasury. Canaccord will make its trading decisions concerning the timing of the purchases of Ordinary Shares independently of, and uninfluenced by, the Group." £3m is about 4% of market cap. So this will provide a floor and probably upward pressure on the share price between now and end Feb next year. Little downside risk. | barnesian

23/10/2022 14:24 | These layoffs were made surely in Feb 2018 when production of handmade bricks at Charnwood was largely finished. | 1tx

14/10/2022 15:50 | Do you have link re Charwood? MBH have 371 employees in total so 60+ is a large proportion. Could be a cost saving rationalisation or a response to falling demand. | barnesian
14/10/2022 14:21 | Apparently Charnwood has given everyone their notice. 60+ people put of a job! | my retirement fund
29/9/2022 09:15 | Its held up well, a commendable effort, how long can that continue though. | my retirement fund
11/9/2022 21:12 | Am I correct in thinking that Michelmersh is partly a combination of previously listed plc companies ? | coolen
11/9/2022 20:05 | m12rtn think it's unlikely to be taken over by forterra or ibstock, there are only 3 large players in UK bricks plus Michelmersh two of which are fort and ibst, so there would be competition concerns, seems that michelmersh is financially sound with plenty of cash, £9m, entering what may be a difficult period of higher energy costs and possibly reduced demand particularly for their premium product. Though capital expenditure always required to maintain the brickworks... | c3479z
09/9/2022 17:12 | I'm thinking EPS around 13.7p giving a PE of 12.6. 4% yield covered 2X. None of that looks expensive to me but its all about direction of travel | makinbuks
09/9/2022 07:43 | Anyone see the presentation yesterday. Was it good?.I still think fort or Ibst will buy this company. | m12rtn
08/9/2022 13:06 | Yes its an error, more like 16 yes? | my retirement fund
07/9/2022 10:35 | Where do you get your PE forecast? | sebass |
