L2?? I never knew traders use L2 for indices.

Tape readers have order flow. You'll need to invest considerable amount of time and practise.

ZN, 6J etc are extra as they've indirect impact.

Trading is about having an edge on others, no one will teach you to give the edge away.

I'm only a beginner. I know nothing yet.

You take the fact that the bid and ask are limit orders, constant fight..it's the market orders driving. .the now execution's filling the two side limits

How to track that?

Some job beating algos on order flow these days.

The speed of change in depth and balance/inbalance is just spooky

What do you classify as a dip on the chart, is it if it pulls back a few percent by a few percent. I kind of looked at the shorts on indices as a hedge against my shares portfolio, that was the theory. I am out of my depth on indices, I confess.I have fell into the trap of thinking indices surely cannot keep going up, based on knowns that the economy is shot to pieces

Where do you see access to order flow mate? Is that something different to L2

By the order of Trump, the markets will stay up.

You forget shorting, consider dips buying. Follow the trend, the trend is bullish.

In bullish trend, shorting is high risk. Scalp trading fine.

I tend to stick to SPX because the group I follow has tape readers, 6J, ZN, GC analysts etc. Charts guide you but order flow is key to trade indices.

Today everyone said sellers at 3130 SPX waiting and 90% went short. I also reduced 1/3 long. But the trend is bullish, and treasuries jumped in before closing.

Dow looks as though it's only going one way. I seem to be brilliant and picking the opposite direction, I would be a millionaire if all my trades were reversed lol.

Idon’t fly..
Good stuff, I’m into PAGS at 12% of my portfolio so roughly same risk as you, might add on dips, the company (and government backing) just feel 100% right for future trends.
Cheers

Spartan, so would you say we have technically had our bear market and now going into a new bull market, or was the lows due to COVID-19 too short lived to be classified technically as bear market?
