24/1/2017 07:34 | RNS at 16:44 last night. Mtr no longer hold a notifiable interest in Connemara Holdings. | uknighted
23/1/2017 17:17 | Wait till we get a nice drilling update from MOD, then we'll see them move:) but all the tidbits are useful too. ECR was the co that caused so much vitriol and hate posts against Paul Johnson, it was mad at times and scarcely worth bothering reading the bb some days. I don't hold ECR but I'm glad it seems to be starting a recovery for those who do. And I'm glad a lot of the stuff Paul Johnson initiated for MTR could be starting to work now, somewhat later than he thought but nonetheless vindicating his judgement. I hope to attend a presentation on Sat, PJ should be there, I'll be happy to shake his hand and say well done. | paleje
23/1/2017 14:33 | We are seeing several of MTR's investments moving up very recently. ECR currently up 39%, THR up 22% just now as well as GGP which has been up and down now up 12%. Won't do any harm to the MTR share price. | dr jekyll
23/1/2017 13:03 | GGP up over 20% | mister md
23/1/2017 11:10 | how come red rock resources and greatland gold power ahead yet we go in the opposite direction | billionaire1

21/1/2017 22:48 | #5354, Why "LOL"? "Monday 16 January, 2017 Metal Tiger plc Directorate Change Directorate Change Metal Tiger plc Metal Tiger Plc ("Metal Tiger" or the "Company") Directorate Change Metal Tiger (LON: MTR), the natural resources investing company is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Potter as a Company Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. The Company also announces the resignation of Paul Johnson as Non-Executive Director with immediate effect. | jeffian
21/1/2017 21:12 | Only started Sita two months ago should be a real asset for MT. Mark Potter - Non-Executive Director Mark is the Founder and a Partner of Sita Capital Partners LLP, an investment management and advisory firm specialising in investments in the mining industry. He was formerly a Director and Chief Investment Officer of Anglo Pacific Group, a London listed natural resources royalty company, where he successfully led a turnaround of the business through acquisitions, disposals of non-core assets, and successful equity and debt fundraisings. Prior to Anglo Pacific, Mark was a founding member and Investment Principal for Audley Capital Advisors LLP, a London based activist hedge fund, where he was responsible for managing all natural resources investments. Mark worked on several landmark deals in the mining sector including the successful distressed investment and turnaround of Western Coal Corp and its $3.3bn sale to Walter Energy Inc. Mark invested over $300mm during the period 2005 to 2012 in the mining sector, generating P&L in excess of $600mm and realised proceeds of over $900mm. The Audley European Opportunities Fund was nominated by Eurohedge as a top performing hedge fund in the event-driven space for 2006, 2007 and 2010. Prior to Audley Capital, Mark worked in corporate finance for Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup) and Dawnay, Day, a private equity and corporate finance advisory boutique and completed over $2bn of M&A, equity and debt transactions. Mark graduated with an MA degree from Trinity College, University of Cambridge. | geoffsh
21/1/2017 20:56 | watched interview with new CIO - looks like a kid albeit a smart one... and initial hunch over mark potter is that his cv is being puffed a bit - his Sita venture looks like a one-man and his fax operation - not saying he doesn't have big talent or big plans, but saying he is heading up a new hedge fund makes it sound snazzier than it currently is? | brando69
21/1/2017 20:53 | as i understand it mtr wants to phase out its investment division to focus fully on direct ops, and sees the former as a means of realising working capital for the latter without frequent fundraisings in the market via the normal placings etc that trash shareholder value for those not 'in the club'. this certainly makes sense and is a strategy that makes it a better punt for the PI, assuming they can pick decent investments - seems they can - and exit them at the right point - we will see sooner rather than later i guess | brando69
21/1/2017 19:40 | I thought 'PJ' had gone? | jeffian
21/1/2017 19:31 | Some pointers 1. All placings are dilutive UNLESS you participated in line with your shareholding 2. I have asked PJ to clarify free float and he has promised to do so 3. The name to focus on is Terry Grammar. Why is he here? He has a proven track record and a reputation to protect. He is no Andrew Bell. 4. According to PJ....Botswana is a monster Good luck all | smelgys mum
21/1/2017 19:30 | Another company whose market capitalisation seems to undervalue its assets is Greatland Gold in the Mail. hard to put it clearer than that! What price next week??? 0.7 maybe....? Metal Tiger should be looking at 1p to sell not this price. | barnetpeter
21/1/2017 09:27 | b69 Dividend in specie is a dividend paid in assets rather than cash. In this instance Mtr shareholders are being given shares in the newco. I suspect this is what you are referring to. | uknighted
21/1/2017 00:26 | Can someone explain this to me: "ex specie dividend" in the Thai IPO Does that mean a dividend in the form of shares in the Thai spin off? | brando69 |
