30/3/2017 14:32 | Good afternoon Saul. With regard to the hirings and firings at your workplace I must confess that I'm looking forward to what names and characters might appear next. | shorecrab
30/3/2017 14:32 | Good afternoon shorecrab. May I say thank you VERY much for the lesson about Haddock and Cod. Very illuminating. I shall indeed remember those thoughts and divulge them at the next dinner party I attend where the conversation lapses between guests. | prambigear
30/3/2017 14:24 | Good afternoon, shorecrab. | saul goodman
30/3/2017 14:17 | Homemade chicken noodle soup 10/10. Cod & Haddock - I noted Grahamite2's comment yesterday. Many people say they can't tell the difference and they are indeed very similar, but it's easier to tell if they are extremely fresh. When I lived on the northeast coast if you asked for fish & chips you got Haddock. You had to ask for Cod specifically and wait for it to be cooked. This was because both fish were plentiful and not so expensive and the preference was for Haddock - which tells you something. Down south it was different because supply was more local and though both fish prefer cold water, Cod could be caught in the Channel and the South West whereas a Haddock would never set fin below Scotland. Another difference is that a small or 'chat' Haddock is very sweet and nice to eat, even when too small to fillet. Cod however are best when big. The bigger the better, hence the saying 'big cod is best'. | shorecrab

29/3/2017 19:10 | Oh I find it so funny when I access this site I register as " European not known " Ain't the that the bloody truth today. | bargainbob
29/3/2017 14:44 | Good afternoon to you too. In fact, a very good afternoon. Those Europeans who are saying they are missing us already should have thought of that before, when their judges were saying we couldn't deport dangerous and violent criminals because it might upset their pet hamsters. | grahamite2
29/3/2017 14:37 | Good afternoon, grahamite2. Duly noted. | avatar333
29/3/2017 14:32 | Given the choice I always go for haddock rather than cod, but to tell the truth, I can't tell the difference. | grahamite2 |
