24/1/2007 12:52 | Based on RNS in October, the result of 3D seismic should be availabe in January. It is a matter of time.... The Directors of MedOil plc, the oil and gas exploration company geographically focused on southern Europe and North Africa, are pleased to announce that the 3-D seismic survey at its Louza Permit in Tunisia has now been completed within budget. The 3D seismic survey work programme was managed by strategic partner TGS-NOPEC ("TGS"), the international seismic acquisition and processing company. As a result, the Company has now acquired in excess of 600 sq km of 3-D seismic data over the offshore Tunisian M'Sela oil discovery and four surrounding prospects. This seismic dataset will now be processed, prior to interpretation and integration with the existing data. The processing company is Woking-based GDC and results are expected to be available in January 2007. | deanmatlazin
24/1/2007 10:00 | What would get things stirring would be the release of positive seismic data results, along with a tie in with somebody and timescale for a rig!!! Now that would be nice................ | duplicate book

24/1/2007 06:43 | Not sure where you get your specific dates from deanmatlazin, but yes should be soon................ reminder from rns The results of the above study conclude that the M'Sela-1 oil discovery, within the Upper Cretaceous Abiod volcanic section, has potentially attractive volumes (based on Monte Carlo simulation) of oil-in-place, and the oil is of good quality. The oil-in-place volumes range from 260 million barrels to 850 million barrels, with indicative recoverable reserves ranging from 48 million barrels to 225 million barrels, although these estimates are deemed indicative only until detailed reservoir engineering and further seismic studies can be conducted. Based on the current data the main source of production appears to come from fractures within the volcanic reservoir, although matrix porosity may also contribute to production. The M'Sela-1 also encountered a 130 ft. oil column in the Isis formation, but due to uncertainty of lateral continuity, potential reserves were not calculated. The report also identifies four other exploration targets in the immediate vicinity of M'Sela-1, with the main reservoir targets being the Cretaceous Isis and Serdj formations. These structures have aggregate un-risked oil-in-place numbers ranging from 480 to 1,110 million barrels. The report recommends that MedOil conducts the 600 sq. km. 3-D seismic survey as originally planned, together with shipboard gravity and magnetic data, with the ultimate aim of identifying a suitable location for what is likely to be a horizontal well to appraise the M'Sela oil accumulation. The survey will also better define the four additional prospects, and assess their chance of commercial success. Future Work Programme Based on the above results MedOil will now actively seek to shoot the recommended 3-D seismic programme in 2006, with the aim of preparing for an appraisal well on the M'Sela discovery. Dave Thomas, MedOil's CEO, commenting on the results of the independent technical review, stated: ' We could not be more pleased with the results of Merlin's scoping review, which more than justifies our initial faith in the prospectivity of this licence, especially if the initial reserve estimates are ultimately justified for the M'Sela-1 discovery. We will do everything possible to follow Merlin's recommendations in a timely manner in order to define a drilling location, or locations, in the short term. This is naturally subject to the availability of suitable seismic vessels and, ultimately, drilling rigs. We have also commissioned a similar independent review of our Maltese acreage, and hope to have its findings and recommendations in the near future. We also continue to seek new acreage of equal quality to Tunisia to add to our portfolio'. Note: The technical content of this announcement has been checked by David Thomas, the Company's CEO and a geologist with 30 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, and confirmed as extracted from the independent report prepared by Merlin Energy Resources Ltd. | farnham
23/1/2007 23:29 | I am expecting RNS this week or early next week for 3D seismic result. M Sela 1 estimated 48-228m barrels + 4 other leads that may contain up to 1 billion barrels. If result is good, expect this will go up double in 1 day | deanmatlazin

12/1/2007 20:36 | Anybody on here have a list of major shareholders in MDL? I've been trying to find out how many Credit Agricole have offloaded recently, and how many they have remaining. Be nice to know how many are held by the Management and any other institutions since the fund raising and issue of new shares. Thanks in advance............ | duplicate book

05/1/2007 20:16 | That it is Credit Agricole SA who have been reducing their holding in MDL. There have been some large sells over the last month or so. Question is: Have they finished, (if not, how many more are they going to drop onto the market and now that they have holdings below the 3% notification limit, they need not issue an RNS stating so), and maybe, WHY are they selling now when we are expecting news regarding the seismic 3Dand a possible tie up? | duplicate book
05/1/2007 18:27 | Now we know what exactly Dupe? | dodman2

05/1/2007 13:28 | Did anyone see the GROWTH EQUITIES & COMPANY RESEARCH on medoil released on November 1st? If so, can you provide a link as it doesn't seem to be working on Medoil site. I've Sorted it now - my eyes must have been having an off day. | rebelsrus
04/1/2007 20:18 | Bit of volume for us today and a nice T trade to take out the earlier sell. May see a bit of interest in MDL over the next few weeks. Be nice to see us moving northwards with volume prior to any news. | duplicate book
04/1/2007 11:28 | Happy New Year to all Medlers :o)) Another large trade goes through showing as a sell. Half a p over bid, which stays the same, but the offer drops to 15.5p. Could it be a buy from a few days ago I wonder? Not sure what the regulations are regarding the late display of trades so many times over the NMS, but I would've thought that a sell of that size just at the moment would have caused a more significant drop in price? We should get news on the 3D Seismic anytime now, and maybe news on just who were are going into partnership with to drill the first hole!! Lets get this stirring again. Been stuck in this trading range for long enough.............. | duplicate book
31/12/2006 18:04 | SKYSHIP, ADVFN allow you to freely use HTML with a few restrictions in place to prevent hacking type stuff. All I did was use HTML tables to layout everything. The graphic bullet point which I drew is inside a table cell and is stored on my ISP account webspace as is all the other images that you see here. I could easily use imageshack instead. Anyone who knows HTML can do this on ADVFN, no special external requirement is needed and a descrete (IFRAME) URL is probably one such hack that ADVFN does not allow. P.S. the header is a little old, please see the last few RNS for upto date information on MDL. I will update the header when the next RNS is out. | rebelsrus |
