10/9/2006 21:34 | Crosbie2.... I hope that you're right. I just took my information from the Medoil Website relating to the Seismic Survey: The Seismic Acquisition Programme. 1. 3-D Seismic Survey of 600 sq km 2. Expect survey to last 4-6 weeks 3. Weather conditions in August in central Mediterranean expected to be good. After the acquisition. 3-4 months to process the wealth of acquired 3-D data. If that is the case, then news re survey due December/January time. | duplicate book
10/9/2006 19:24 | Sure we'll hear sooner than that ... Quoted middle August ... "The programme is designed to add confidence to the technical analysis of the defined prospects; determine the location of a near-term appraisal drilling programme around the oil discovery; and examine the upside potential of the M'Sela stratigraphic oil trap. MedOil said as long as weather conditions remain fair, it will acquire 20 square kilometres per day of data and the survey will take 4-6 weeks to complete. MedOil's chief executive officer, David Thomas, said: "We are delighted that the seismic survey has commenced. The acquisition of the 3D technical data should provide some important results for MedOil, and we look forward to updating the market in the coming months. | crosbie2
09/9/2006 08:09 | Cat........ I think its just the MM's trying to create a market and generate a little interest. We do have a seller in MDL just at the moment. On almost every occasion that there has been an increase in volume, or a small tick up in the bid/offer there is a large T or trade goes through that counters the amount bought on the day. Wednesday went the same, a large 100k sell at the end to counter the 100k and odd buys. Until they've offloaded, I can see us floating around at this level, (unless of course we get some news that drives the share price northwards!!) I had a scan through the website last week and noticed that it is going to take about four months to fully evaluate the information gathered during the 3-D seismic survey currently underway on the El Louza block. So I reckon we won't get to hear anything about that until the beginning of next year. Not too sure what to expect news wise through this last quarter? If there is nothing coming our way, then it may be a bit of a bumpy ride towards the back end!!! | duplicate book
08/9/2006 23:01 | traded up today at 18p but marked down . Odd | cat100
06/9/2006 10:15 | cat....Would imagine that after the initial two year period where MDL have to do a 3-D seismic study, they will know wether it is going to be worth keeping it on, or dropping it! Have done a bit of digging but can't find anything of any great interest in that area?? Bit of a flurry of activity this morning though, with a few nice buys going through early on. It will be interesting to see if they are countered with a big sale later in the day. Tick up on offer too. | duplicate book
05/9/2006 23:43 | The agreement is for seven years with a "drill-or-drop" decision after the second and fifth years, MedOil said, adding that its minimum work expenditure for the first two years is 2.05 mln usd. Is it 7 years or 5. If you can drop after 5 then it's 5 years in total. Is it not. | cat100
05/9/2006 10:26 | Good read .. | crosbie2

05/9/2006 07:55 | "Oil Sector Albania relies on the importation of oil to meet its domestic demand. Albania extracts oil from 12 oil fields with 3,123 operating oil wells. Albania has 165 million barrels of proven oil reserves and has offshore oil reserves. The offshore oil exploration activities show that potential oil reserves are estimated to be 50 million cubic meters, and may be as high as 200 million cubic meters. The most probable new areas for oil exploration are in the Shpiragu region, where the oil concentration capacity in drilled wells is being evaluated; the Palokastra and Vlora region, where the results from the drilling of two wells are being analyzed; and the South Tirana region, where the drilling of oil wells is under way and results may be avail-able by the end of 2004. Three companies dominate the oil sector in Albania: Albpetrol, which handles oil extraction; Servcom, which is responsible for services; and ARMO (Albanian Oil Refining and Marketing), which manages refining and marketing. Oil extraction centers are located in Berat and Fier. The two major refineries are at Ballsh and Fier. The refinery at Ballsh has a capacity of 1 million tons; both refineries tend to operate at only 30 percent of capacity. Several foreign companies have been exploring and producing oil in Albania since 1992, including Occidental Petroleum, OMV, and Lundin Petroleum. The privatization of Servcom is well under way, with the Albanian government reviewing offers from strategic investors interested in purchasing shares of 51 percent to 80 percent of the company. The Albanian government recently announced they are accepting expressions of interests from strategic investors for a minimum of 51 percent of ARMO's shares. Once the expressions of interests are received in early December, the Albanian government will then invite inter-ested investors to submit their offers. The oil extraction company, Albpetrol, is scheduled to be privatized by the end of 2005. AMBO (Albanian-Macedonian The pipeline route would link the port of Bourgas, which is on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria, with the port of Vlora, which is on the Adriatic coast of Albania, to transport oil from the Caspian region to Western Europe and the United States. If this project is adopted, there may be export and subcontracting opportunities for U.S. companies. The pipe-line will be 576 miles long and will transport more than 40 million tons of oil per year". | crosbie2
05/9/2006 07:39 | We have to assume that our leaders have a good reason in wanting to persue this agreement, they must believe that they will ultimately get a decent return for their expenditure? Another string to their bow, but I must admit, I am not that familiar with this area in terms of oil exploration! Still can't understand where that article was coming from with its US$26.5 million leading sentence!! Lets see if this impacts the shre price any................ | duplicate book

05/9/2006 07:18 | The PSA is for seven years with a drill-or-drop decision after the second and fifth years. MedOil's initial obligation is for 400 sq. km. of a 3-D seismic work programme in the first two year period with a minimum work expenditure of USD 2.05million. | jimarilo
