there should not be a tax given the terrible damages/losses that Dr Wrong caused the company over the years............there should in fact be £100m of potential losses that should be crystallized.

if so, the TNAV will be 70p-ish, all in cash once the very sound investment in Stanmore has been sold too.

i guess PG and 3i want their money having supported the new team during the work out - so shareholders should see 70p-ish coming out as a distribution - in maybe 12 months time. so buying 70p for 50p with delivery in one year - would make a 40% low risk return. not bad! but why do people sell at this level - sounds absolutely crazy?

Not so hot are you hotfinance? You forget the debt on the MDY balance sheet - loan notes to 3i in the main, and the possibility of tax to pay on the sale proceeds (in the zero to 30% range, I have no idea!)

Before todays announcement the mkt capital was at £2.2m with a share price of about 15p. We are going to receive a payment of about £12m so should a fair share price be 12/2.2*15p = 82p.

Your thoughts ?

Presumably there will be some tax to pay on the profits of this sale. $20m sale less $6m invested is a profit of $14m. Tax at 28%(???) about $4m, so net $16m to MDY. WHich is about £10. Less debt of let's say £1.8 gives £8.2m cash (48p/share). With Stanmore in for free.

Any accountant with thoughts on tax?
Anyone with thoughts on value of Stanmore?

It's good to see you are reading my posts and are as paranoid as you
were before.

Why would i be jealous, it's great when this happens to suffering
shareholders.

Something that will never in a lifetime happen to you and your pump
and dump sidekick topinfo because you cannot hold any share more than
a day.

Errmmm where am i deramping them, i just said i'm not chasing it, great
result for those who hold, too illiquid and too volatile for traders to
get involved imo

They should have 70p in net cash once all settled and proceeds will of course be handed back to shareholders unless directors have credible options to reinvest. Well done to the mdy directors and thanks pg for supporting the company during difficult times!

Huge mark up to 30p.

So value is 5 million now but they will have 10 mil left over and one
investment.

You can never tell with these type of stocks what they will do, in theory
they should be valued at maybe slightly lower than cash, say 50p in a bad
market, so it's hard to know what it will do from opening at 28-32p.

Well done to those who hold, a nice surprise

3735 - Appalling, but true. It is all that they are good for.

Hot

PG= Peter Gyllenhammer, he is Swedish and an abitrageur.

Arbitrageur - Definition of Arbitrageur on Investopedia - A type of investor who attempts to profit from price inefficiencies in the market.

It seems that he felt that MDY was being badly managed and so invested heavily and became an activist shareholder who wanted the sum of the parts to be broken up to realise shareholder value and subsequently make a decent return on his investment.

The original management have departed and new guys are doing the clean up act, they are making an excellent job of it (imo).

This week they jettisoned the ill fated Trust William.

They are left with low running costs and the two very valuable and saleable assets. (imo)

Stanmore and Medivance - I expect Stanmore could be next and then we will be left with Medivance. For those still holding MDY shares, it is felt that Medivance are the jewel in the crown. I am hoping for between 30p and 50p a share next year especially if Medivance are either bought or IPO..

all, imo/dyor
