10/3/2011 16:04 | We've had last our squirt. Next photo will be of the cow lifting it's tail. | miamisteve
10/3/2011 13:41 | :-) I was thinking PC and TA milking the cow and sqirting a few drops to the shareholders. CR | cockneyrebel
10/3/2011 11:53 | Assuming somebody hasn't pinched it. | deswalker
10/3/2011 11:49 | Anybody got a view on where the bottom is on the SP? I mean, at some point (soon?), the lead on the roof will be worth more than the mkt cap! | charliebrown2000
10/3/2011 11:30 | Saw this picture and MUBL came to mind. Does this image not sum up MUBL Cash Cow, directors and shareholders watching on? | cockneyrebel
10/3/2011 10:50 | Originally Trevor allan was meant to be on the board in exchange of £100k. Acording to Companies House he hasn't joined the board yet. | kimboy2
10/3/2011 10:42 | Having in the past been rather rude about MBL's 15% investment in U-explore, I was interested to note that Morrisons - who are also committing to moving from 'physical' to online sales - have acquired a 10% stake in US company Fresh Direct saying - "We will be taking a c10% stake in the company, with a seat on the Board and the opportunity to embed a team of Morrisons people in the business to learn how it operates. They have been building their business for 12 years, are profitable and growing like-for-like sales at over 20%. We believe our investment will, itself, be highly successful, but that the learning we will get from it will be invaluable." I would understand our position more if it involved "a seat on the Board and the opportunity to embed a team of....people in the business to learn how it operates" but I didn't quite get that from the recent presentations I attended, where reference was simply made to MBL representative(s?) 'sitting in' on U-e meetings. Would be nice if they could expand on online strategy in the end-March update. | jeffian
09/3/2011 16:48 | Just looking at the chart, it's like the LOQ one turned upside down lol | mr hangman
09/3/2011 16:42 | I am not trying to persuade anyone but merely explaining the situation as I see it. I have concerns about the business the same as others but I try to arrange meetings such as the presentation with MP of GMV so that we can find out more about potential in that part of the business. I am also keen to see better corporate governance for obvious reasons as one non exec is not enough and there are three full time execs on the board now ! Ask the nomad re the questions you raise on closed period...maybe they will help. Have you asked Sainsburys why you cannot do a digital download as they promised ? | davidosh
09/3/2011 16:14 | Davidosh, I'm not persuaded by your comments and find your ever positive view misplaced. Not long ago your were tantalising everyone with hints about new non-execs. What happened? GMV and the wonderful presentation. What has actually materialised? I'm still waiting to see the digital downloads which Sainsbury's claimed was going to happen before Christmas 2010, then year end 2010, then early in the 2011, then... As for the closed period, is there such a thing when it comes to submitting proposals for a tender? And besides, wouldn't that have to presume that the management knew the outcome of their bid otherwise why shouldn't they be entitled to take a punt based on confidence? | charliebrown2000
09/3/2011 15:32 | The RNS said for provision of home entertainment product logistics services. They may of course expand it, who knows. As for perfumes etc I think this is exactly the type of thing they have to do whatever the MRW contract result. They need to leverage the infrastruture and knowledge they have more aggressively. I presume that was the reason for the board changes announced in late January. I don't know if this would require acquisitions or whether it can be started de novo. I notice that bee.com has nearly the same footfall, or is that fingerfall, as Sainsburys home entertainment according to Alexa. We will no doubt find out what turnover that results in. | kimboy2
09/3/2011 15:21 | Davidosh - could they not have bought before the tender was submitted if they had confidence in a positive result or if they are confident in growing other parts of the business? | fmcalorum
09/3/2011 15:10 | We do not know the scope, detail or size of the tender. They may be asking for assistance with distribution of flowers, perfumes, ele | davidosh
09/3/2011 15:06 | Historically? | knowing
09/3/2011 15:05 | knowing...How would I know ? The directors will though...so unfair if they trade IMO | davidosh
09/3/2011 15:03 | David how much does this contract contribute to the TO and profit? | knowing
09/3/2011 15:02 | CharlieBrown and fmcalorum...You both asked If the management has any confidence, why aren't they buying up shares at these rock bottom prices? - has anyone asked them this question? I suspect we are now very close to a decision from Morrisons and if the tender has been submitted which I think it has then the directors will almost certainly now be in a closed period until the outcome. We will all be in a position to understand the way forward when that news is out and i intend to arrange a conference call so that we can ask all the necessary questions. | davidosh
09/3/2011 14:59 | The answer is in the chart! | knowing
09/3/2011 14:55 | If the management has any confidence, why aren't they buying up shares at these rock bottom prices? - has anyone asked them this question? | fmcalorum
09/3/2011 14:20 | Charlie regardless of whether people say it's priced in or not the share will drop for sure. | knowing
09/3/2011 14:18 | 1000 cuts is right, however most self inflicted. This company will serve as a text book study of how not to run a buisness let alone a plc. | timesmoney
09/3/2011 13:46 | It's the death of a thousand cuts! As has been pointed out previously, if the management has any confidence, why aren't they buying up shares at these rock bottom prices? Has the market already decided that Morrisons is lost? If not, where does the share price go if it is lost? | charliebrown2000
09/3/2011 13:37 | looking at the chart above, the decline has been chillingly consistent, and if it continues we have no value in 3-4 months. And it isnt as though the volumes are large. The company, according to the share price, will just downsize into oblivion (and thats being charitable). Is there any value in the business at all with TA in charge ? | fft
07/3/2011 11:55 | For anyone interested, One Media Publishing continues to progress well, results today, reason for mentioning, they make brief reference to falling music sales in the High Street. (Buyback was a one off due to shares held by a collapsed broking house. Of course that will be reflected favourably in future eps!). Highlights for me included increasing turnover to GBP1,217,901. This is a year on year increase of 53% Pre-tax profits reported at GBP249,732; up by 279% compared to the GBP64,471 reported for 2009. Outlook We continue to be a purely B2B music supplier to over 200 digital music stores throughout the world with iTunes, Amazon and Spotify being the leading retailers in their sectors. We continue to experience strong growth in our core business of digital sales. Despite the reported slowdown in the high street for compact discs, the digital download market for music remains a growth sector. following the half-year results due at the end of July 2011, the board will consider carefully, the appropriateness of announcing a maiden dividend. It has always been the Board's intention to make the shares a dividend stock, and we are currently reviewing our dividend policy. __________________ | microscope |
