I see Lisa Clarke and her brother have experienced quite a tough period of trading...

Because they still have their noses in the trough and while there is cash around they will keep them there.
There is no strategy beyond knocking out cheap CDs and DVDs that the shareholders have funded through write downs. Nice work if you can get.

I don't think You-Explore traded before the name was changed to u-xplore.

They don't seem to be making much progress in getting the money back out of TA's mates yet. I suspect that they feel they will get a better deal from the administrator.

I am afraid I don't really understand the strategy of this company any more. What are they trying to do ? Why didn't they just liquidate when they lost MRW.

YOU-EXPLORE LIMITED Dissolved

Mmmmm...So it had gone bust once before we gave them £2m !

I really do wonder how shareholders were protected here as any due diligence would have suggested even £100k was pushing it for just 15% !

Given the parlous state of the Company I assume they will be selling their Olympic tickets?

With the sort of luck these guys have, the building will not have been damaged but they probably will not have access for days possibly not even until the New Year. so worst of all worlds, no insurance claim and no stock going out to customers.
However given recent performance doing no business is probably more profitable that doing it!

One of the reader comments beneath the LEP article says that "Music box looks intact although the closest part to Bowker may have smoke damage" (comment #50).

Bloody hell! I was there a few weeks ago (for the AGM). Coming from the pubs business, I have to say that a good fire is often the salvation of a distressed business.

Perhaps Peter could tell shareholders if he considers his bonus well earned, given his impact on the company and the company's success since he joined.

Perhaps he will make a start by shoring up the company finances through repaying the £300,000 bonus that he took in 2010. After all he is on a seven figure package at J D Sports so it's not as though he was dependent upon it. If Allan (£388,000) and Clarke (£147,000) repaid their 2010 bonuses too then it would almost double the current company market cap in an instant. Such a gesture might be appreciated by those who were subsequently made redundant by MBL and are still out of work and might also contribute to keeping a few more on the payroll too ! What do you think the chances are of that happening ?

"The boss of a stricken leisure group which laid off half its workforce has vowed to turn it around. Peter Cowgill, chairman of the Leyland-based MBL Group, said the company's directors were now looking to stabilise the business...The slump values the firm at just £908,000."

Just catching up on the last few days posts.
Lots of wasted energy here.
Shareholders money has been lost, its history, get used to the idea, its not coming back.
Proving misleading RNS'S?- At best a stock exchange slap on the wrist,- no satisfaction for shareholders there.
Confirmation that you invested in a company run by incompetents?- Sad but true.
That shareholders value may have been destroyed by fraud and greed, thats worth chasing up. Will you get your money back? No. But if there has been fraud and it can be proved, lots of shareholder satisfaction.
If Sefton Group are the bigest losers and as declared in their R&A that they intend action, then they should be contacted by anyone who has real evidence and wishes to see the company and directors questioned on the issues.
The directors are of course inocent until proved otherwise. I would have thought that they would have welcomed the opportunity to put their side of the story.
There have been repeated thinly veiled accusations on this BB and others suggesting that the related party transactions were a scam. That the UExplore deal was fixed in some way. That the warehouse deal was also fixed. New allegations have been made about undervalued stock.
Go to Sefton Group ask for their lawyers and tell them what you know.
Contacting purported ex employess is not advisable or worthwhile.
