03/3/2010 09:06 | Vote for tim as CFO of Matrix ! | sand dollar
03/3/2010 08:15 | If MERE is prepared to splash out around £5 mn on a share buy-back, I personally think it should also be looking to reinstate a dividend at the same time. I guess it will raise about EUR 62 mn net from the IZD sale (since it will be entitled to at least a couple of million rental payments, net of interest payments, for Jan/Feb/March). From that, they are paying down debt by EUR 35 mn and buying back the shares. That still leaves about £19 mn additional cash, and 10p per annum dividends would only cost £3.4 mn over the next year. | tim00
03/3/2010 08:09 | hope and believe so also. at least someone already paid 1.26 today... | a75
02/3/2010 23:29 | Very happy for day traders to be deterred. If anyone has ever read the Zulu Principle (quite a good investment book although a lot of its "insight" is pretty much common sense), you will know that Slater chose the title because his view was that if someone takes the time to mug up on Zulus, getting to know about their culture, etc, then after a few weeks and months you are going to be much more of an expert on them than the next guy. It's just the same with shares. The London markets have, what, 2,500-3,000 shares quoted on them, and I'll bet (apologies to Pareto) that 80% of the analysts and fund managers who work in the City follow just 20% of those shares. So, A75 and sand dollar, I think that this share probably is being overlooked by the kinds of investors (institutions) that we would love to see getting involved. But that will change... | karldinnel
02/3/2010 22:27 | I don't think we are missing anything, it's not so much being overlooked, it's more to do with the way the MMs are manipulating the share price because of the shortage of stock, the spread tends to deter a lot of day traders, that's why it's so quite on here most days. | sand dollar
02/3/2010 19:52 | ended up buying a few more today @ 1.22. couldnt believe i did it really - still think its getting overlooked unless we are missing something... and when you have spent enough time on something/following it you feel like your decision is more justified because maybe others havent. also feel like you know where its going now.. sold some iere to make myself feel better about the idea as we see more upside here based on nav and and likely LTV / cash . wittering away to myself now. good night | a75
02/3/2010 10:52 | Interesting. The other day, when the shares were 107-112p, I did a dummy sell on my account to see how many they would let me sell in one go and it would let me sell no more than 1,000 shares. (Not that I want to sell at these levels, mind!) Just now, I repeated the exercise and it will let me sell 10,000 shares at 116p. Seems that stock is in demand... | karldinnel
02/3/2010 10:29 | fair point, I just meant today. | tim00
02/3/2010 10:27 | Tim. I shall only being saying "at last" when we get up to 180p per share (i.e. roundabout a 40% discount to NAV). The rerating hasn't even begun yet, in my opinion... | karldinnel
02/3/2010 10:22 | some action at last. | tim00
02/3/2010 08:51 | Must admit from a chart point of view, its looking very good. | johnv
02/3/2010 08:19 | Anyhow, it doesn't look like it is going up on the latest news so I can afford to wait. Got plenty of shares, anyway... | karldinnel
02/3/2010 08:19 | yes, but it's the only way to get 5000. Depends how much you want them. Commission should be small. | tim00
02/3/2010 08:18 | I don't like to do that because of the commission, but I suppose it's how my broker makes its money... | karldinnel
02/3/2010 08:09 | try breaking down the order into three lots | tim00
02/3/2010 08:06 | no stock around. | tim00
02/3/2010 08:05 | Trying to buy some more. Not many, just 5,000, but my dealing service isn't letting me... | karldinnel
