Property outlook grim , surveyors expecting first fall since november 2012.

And 10-year gilt yield minutes ago hit a record low of 1.224%

General Election after Euro vote , Tory party will be split and no legislation will be able to get through

I`m happy just to preserve wealth these days. Blue chip dividend payers, hopefully retaining their capital value. Grim outlook everywhere economically

And plenty of cash.

Morning dlku , I think you`ll have to look elsewhere for a takeover . Not going to happen with MKS.

Philip Green has played a blinder, he couldn't get his mucky paws on M&S and had now gifted them the early demise of BHS.
This is where the clothing recovery will get kick started.

Anyone else have their router fried by that exceptional lightning storm in the south east last night ?

....dlku , short cut to the food hall, that`s my story and I`m sticking to it ;-D

London Standard:

"Marks & Spencer stands to be the biggest beneficiary of BHS’s demise, according to Morgan Stanley. It expects the collapse of the chain to boost M&S’s like-for-like sales by 2-3% over the next year.

“While it is unlikely to change M&S’s longer-term prospects, it increases our conviction that the nearer-term risk reward is now very favourable,” said analyst Geoff Ruddell

Perhaps MKS could make use of bigger stores by renting a bit out to BOO! ( not a BOO holder ).

We've got Argburys now , praps we could have Marks & Boosers!

It appears my - complete - guess about social media and fashion retail must have some truth in it.

From the BOO Joint CE today.

"The phenomenon was a "global" one, she said, because trends travel so quickly through social media. "We have used online influencers and social media in a big way from day one," she said. "It's a great way to get the message out."

Note, she says "could", it could also boost sales quicker. As for, "as it takes customers time to adjust", don't make me laugh. I've been in retail for many years (not any more) and whenever we changed stores around, sales increased, almost from day one.

No doubt M & S will be advertising the improved changes made to the clothes departments, that should boost the number of customers to their stores.

My wife is doing her best to boost clothing sales for us all at M & S now that the weather has turned ;-)

The results will start to filter through and then BOOM ............ 400p short term, slight breath and then 450p within six months IMVHO

Do M & S do loyalty discounts for shareholders like Next? If not why not?
