Yes don't blame you andy. I'm beating the indices this year but still -4.2% for the portfolio for 2018.

It's looking like a full blown sh1t storm.

Raab resigns, pound drops, domestics cave in plus..

"Retail sales fell 0.5% in October, missing economists' expectations of a 0.2% rise by a wide margin."

And so the funds have agreed to reopen their shorts on ex dividend day. Really, I have had enough of these funds playing around with my money. I am liquidating all positions and moving slowly to cash.

Never mind, a wedding dress shop has closed, so MnS can open a Brides' dept. Ask me another.

Absolutely right, Phil, and they have been for a long time, trouble is a lot of old farts still wear dismal clothes selected by their hen-pecking wives. Does my head in seeing the poor spineless blokes being dragged around MnS - "this is what you want, dear" etc.

I'm 74, wear slim, tailored, shirts, and trendy jeans, shoes n jackets that a 30 year-old would be happy to wear. Just got to remember my posture, lol, shoulders back lad. I choose my gear myself, and it gets admired, and nearly all bought at MnS.

I draw the line at eating there, mind.

Short sellers bet £1.4bn on tough Christmas on the high street

Hedge funds have amassed a £1.4bn bet against high street stores as economists warn that a crucial Christmas period will hinge on a Brexit deal.

Pets at Home, Marks & Spencer and Debenhams have become top short seller targets on London’s stock market after struggling to cope with subdued consumer spending and more nimble online competition.
