14/9/2023 09:51 | Yesterday was one of the better days across our portfolio for quite a while - it feels like the AI sector had a real boost early in the year and then consolidated for a fewmonths with the realism of converting new AI products into sales growth. The other factor our manager notes in the recent fact sheet risk is the free returns of over 5% available do not spur much interest in risk assets either. The hope is that the consolidation phase is working through and the AI area renews some interest again now ...albeit we remain with the high interest rates so nothing certain hence the low volume response here to really good days like yesterday for our holdings imvhho | takeiteasy
12/9/2023 09:50 | Its the first one I've received by email and it didn't make much sense to me. I prefer the one on the M&L website. | bluetooth
11/9/2023 13:55 | To our managers, the fact sheet sent out today is for last month and needs to be for 31:8 surely? Has anyone noticed ? | takeiteasy
08/9/2023 13:49 | Be interesting to know if this is some kind of consistent "distressed" selling after several weeks and months - hitting the bid at up to 24% discount on Nav ...perhaps we will have to wait a while until this all clears through... I have said this before but would appreciate if our manager can clarify on his Twitter board if this is how he sees it too ... thanks ... | takeiteasy
07/9/2023 10:52 | The volumes for MNL are very low, it's as if not many people know about it. I hold through AJ Bell and the data is very out of date for holdings, they still show NVIDIA as 5.9%. Also, I can never believe the discount which jumps around between 16 - 23%. | bluetooth
06/9/2023 14:52 | I think 569 asset value for today is a high for 2023 (do correct me if I am wrong) so we'll done to our team ... | takeiteasy
05/9/2023 19:41 | Cadence design and synopsis are the two under the radar I see bellweathers of AI and they both hit all time highs for 2023 today on breakouts...Oracle close to its recent high too. So I try to focus on progress of the underlying portfolio rather than this IT while things are very quiet in the IT dealings.... | takeiteasy
31/8/2023 08:13 | Based on last night's bid of 431 discount now v.approx 23-24%, our manager makes reference to the much higher than historic ranges of IT discounts across the industry on their twitter feed yesterday - the question has to be what our manager can do more to address the issue with his investment trust when our discount is so high relative to the averages....does he read this thread at all? | takeiteasy
30/8/2023 10:36 | First decent sized buy this morning in arguably c3 months - I stand corrected:) | takeiteasy
23/8/2023 22:17 | New York CNN — Michael Burry, the “Big Short” investor who became famous for correctly predicting the epic collapse of the housing market in 2008, has bet more than $1.6 billion on a Wall Street crash. Burry is making his bearish bets against the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, according to Security Exchange Commission filings released Monday. Burry’s fund, Scion Asset Management, bought $866 million in put options (that’s the right to sell an asset at a particular price) against a fund that tracks the S&P 500 and $739 million in put options against a fund that tracks the Nasdaq 100. Burry is using more than 90% of his portfolio to bet on a market downturn, according to the filings. Good luck tomorrow MB, nvidia up 12% :) | takeiteasy
23/8/2023 21:29 | Chill zone....just read the press release....I suspect they were waiting on these results to confirm if there is more to come from the AI tech giants... NVIDIA (NASDAQ: NVDA) today reported revenue for the second quarter ended July 30, 2023, of $13.51 billion, up 101% from a year ago and up 88% from the previous quarter. GAAP earnings per diluted share for the quarter were $2.48, up 854% from a year ago and up 202% from the previous quarter. Non-GAAP earnings per diluted share were $2.70, up 429% from a year ago and up 148% from the previous quarter. “A new computing era has begun. Leading enterprise IT system and software providers announced partnerships to bring NVIDIA AI to every industry. The race is on to adopt generative AI,” he said | takeiteasy
23/8/2023 15:49 | What's wrong with MNL?Last 3 days Nvidia is up approx 15% but not MNL! | umitw
21/8/2023 19:47 | Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) stock is on the rise Monday after getting a new price prediction from HSBC analyst Frank Lee. That new price target has Lee increasing the firm’s expectation for NVDA stock from $600 per share to $780 per share. www.cnbc.com an awful lot of analyst excitement over the results this week so some volatility likely depending on how much the analysts like what they see... | takeiteasy

15/8/2023 08:08 | I was about to post the same and you bear me to it! Nvidia results out shortly - it does seem that everyone is holding fire until we get their results next week - fingers crossed as they say.... | takeiteasy

10/8/2023 14:18 | hxxps://mlcapman.com Top 10 holdings now show Nvidia at c.20% - so we have 50% of the portfolio in 2 stocks MSFT & NVDA which makes this arguably the most ballsy conviction trust available on the UK market imvho...so I continue to follow up with industry comment to try to fathom why this degree of convictions exists by our managers....e.g....d | takeiteasy

28/7/2023 09:03 | hxxps://www.fool.com So much of what is happening in the stock market these days is tied to advancements in artificial intelligence (AI). On the heels of their worst performances in more than a decade, the major market indexes are now squarely in rally mode, driven by the prospects of widespread productivity gains resulting from generative AI. With that as a backdrop, on Thursday chipmaking tools supplier Lam Research (LRCX 9.28%) surged 9.3%, semiconductor equipment systems provider ASML Holding (ASML 3.48%) rallied 3.5%, and chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices (AMD 0.92%) closed the trading day up by 1%. Lam Research reported robust results fueled by a surge in demand, which the company attributed to the ongoing AI boom. | takeiteasy
25/7/2023 12:12 | I get the historic MNL issues with the bias towards the high risk chinese tech etc as SMT does but unlike SMT these are behind us now. Small cap and China are out of scope thank goodness. Given the current selections it is possible that the portfolio has a lower beta than the Nasdaq which if true may help this realign to a stronger position in a relative discount - certainly should be much lower (<10%?) imvho given the current portfolio...this almost trades like the investors fail to realise the shift to the current AI biased holdings... | takeiteasy |
