                   Result of the tender offer for Mallett plc
                  By Hichens, Harrison & Co. plc on behalf of
                                Trefick Limited




21st February 2003



Following the closure of the tender offer by Hichens, Harrison & Co. plc on
behalf of Trefick Limited ("Trefick") to acquire shares in Mallett plc 
("Mallett") at 225p per ordinary share, tenders have been received for a total
of 270,374 Ordinary shares of 5 pence each representing 1.96% of the total
number of shares in issue. Trefick reserves the right, in accordance with the
published terms of the tender offer, to reject any tenders they do not consider
complete but on the basis that all are accepted Trefick will receive a total of
270,374 shares representing 1.96% of the ordinary shares in issue. Cheques will
be despatched by Thursday 27th February 2003 to shareholders who successfully
tendered shares.



Including the 3,110,607 shares held by Trefick prior to the announcement of the
Tender Offer, the resultant holding of Trefick is 3,380,981 shares, which
represents 24.49%% of the total Mallett shares in issue.
