06/1/2004 11:22 | Hmmm. Doing better than I first realised...you're exposed to about 20K of shares so you've made 2% or so this year, but I still maintain your success is mainly down to the rising markets. Are you prepared for a protracted period of falls or even sideways movement? Also, do you realise that with non-guaranteed stops, you'll potentially get shafted in the event of bad news? Do you take account of this risk at all when opening positions? | ![]() stewjames

03/1/2004 14:55 | click the link below a book well worth buying and reading happy trading and good luck | banter
03/1/2004 13:00 | Personally I go for ivestments around £4000-5000 mark, so if a share is 3-4p I will buy 100,000..Profit/Loss £1000 per 1p, stocks around 7-8p, buy 50,000...profit/loss £500 per penny, and stocks like 60p-80p, just buy 5000 shares, so profit/loss is about £50 per penny...All depends on how much you have to invest and how much you can afford to lose. Obviously there is risks with losing the lot but if you have a company with prospects and you believe in it then you are okay, I dont buy large amounts on someones say-so on bulletin boards. My largest holding is in CMS webview, got over £12,000 invested in them, but bought in four blocks of 50,000...Good luck!!!! | topinfo
03/1/2004 10:35 | what amount do you guys/girls invest in one go. when i first started it was 500, then 1000 and now its 2000 with dealing costs etc 2000 invested goes up 10% 170 profit, where as with 500 you only make 20. | banter
03/1/2004 00:18 | decent price, I sold out about 2 weeks ago at 3.4 I think after buying at about 3.1p, made a few hundred coz I had a 100,000 shares but could have waited a couple of weeks and got a bit more, 3.7 would have been nice. Yeah have a look at KTS, there are a few threads and one or two have the charts on, but no real long term charts. On iii you can see the 3 year chart and it is near enough at bottom of trendline. DYOR but for any stock to catch the eye of analysts recommending it as a 2004 stock it must be half decent!!! ZZZZZZ Now see u again Mate. | topinfo
03/1/2004 00:13 | Topinfo, I sold OMH at 3.7p. I paid 3.35p for them on Wednesday. The first time I have ever made a profit day trading OMH since with OMH I go by the number of buys versus sells and there is always a mean seller that destroys the smallest of rises, even 6% ones. I will check out KTS, that is not on my stockwatch list but AGT is. Kind Regards Stephen | responsible lad
03/1/2004 00:05 | Knowing...Yeah to be honest was going to buy them as well, they have been tipped all over the place and look interesting..I couldnt get in at any point with a decent spread so left them for today but will be back on Monday to have a look. Im into DDD and they often follow SPS so hopefully can do well with both!! | topinfo
02/1/2004 23:59 | Top did you see the recomendations SPS today ? Worth having a read of the thread. | the knowing
02/1/2004 23:54 | Well done mate...I think WHOG closed at 6p sell if Im correct so you got out at a good price...Out of interest what price you get for OMH, I had them up until a few weeks ago but sold out. they havent risen again have they without me on the ride...I bought AGT today and a company called KNOWLEDGE TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS (KTS)..Worth having a good luck at as they were tipped as 2004 stock but I have already been looking at them recently..I only bought a small holding £1600, about 15,000 shares just in case but of course DYOR... | topinfo
02/1/2004 23:39 | Yes I sold out at 7.58p. I waited for the price to fall back to prove they were not just going to keep on rising. I then put the money into LDC and lost £100 then moved into ASR at 3.7 and 4.15p, threw also selling Osmetech for a £40 gain. I ended the day up £100, now holding all Avoinic shares hoping to make it big time on Monday. I looked into AGT, there a good bet, may buy on Monday. | responsible lad |
