maestro, if you really want to raise some interest why not run a sweepstake on the next of your shareholdings to get de-listed? I suppose its neck and neck between QXL and LUFC at the moment, or have you got any more in there on their knees ?

Hope it does Mate but be careful those who are predicting 11p will be bailing out at 9p with a big drop. Hope for you it goes to 11p but really cant see it, news and results were poor, nothing really changed except alot of hype on board. It was a good share to make a quick few quid out of and I missed the boat myself but just remember Leeds Utd, quickly up but just as quick down now. those that were predicting 25-30p suddenly disappeared off board and counting their profits...Good luck, wish I had bought whog, was going to at 4p but I would have sold out at 7.5p as i think it will fall back now, but I may be totally wrong!!!!!

Topinfo,

Thanks for the advice. I had my account on Barclays terminated by my mum from loosing to much money on T4's, since I never had a good enough income to get accepted by TD Waterhouse, who refused me. Thanks to my ex girlfriend when I was going out with her, she made me sleep over her house a couple of nights in the week days which stopped me from reading up on the A's before market open and I missed out on 2 shares that trebled to the price I could of bought at 8am.

All that happened in the same week when I had money ready to trade with from Barclays, so if I shown the market total commitment I could well be making a profit last year overall and never had my Barclays account close down.

Like you I could of made near your £120,000 you could of made, I sold out to early last year on MMD at 2.75p, IQE at 3p, PIA at 1.75p, Basegroup at 0.12p, Manpower Solutions at 9p, My Travel at 11p before the rise to 35p, SCE at 12p, rose to 80p after, TAD at 6.5p and maybe more that I can not remember.

On Wednesday I bought back over half the WHOG I sold at 7.2p, for 7.5p and 8p, since I proved myself wrong by selling them when the price continued upwards threw buying pressure later in the day. Tomorrow I am hoping for WHOG to hit 11p that some say it could well do.

Kind Regards
Stephen

OSWD, Totally agree. i like the way that they expect you to pay 40% tax on any profits over £7500, but they dont give you owt if you lose over £7500!!!!

Responsible Lad...Ive been trading now for four years and joined the party just when things crashed, so lost loads in my first few years. Like you say once you get a few tricks up your sleeve and a bit of knowledge then its pretty good and money can be made. I added up that I would have made over £120,000 this year if I had kept all my shares I had and bets on DOW/FTSE etc going since I had them early on in year, but I didnt and sold out before some big rises. I have learned alot this year and I still maintain a profit is a profit and you cant sell too early. If you have made a paper profit on WHOG consider about taking some profit coz it could go down as quick as it went up and you could end up owing money on it. Made that mistake loads of times, but also selling out too early...Your call but dont get too greedy. Casinos bit too dodgy for me but know a colleague who won £114,000 about a month ago on 5 Card Poker National accumulator, and it was his first ever night in a casino, being shown the ropes by a mate...Beginners luck or what. Good luck for 2004!!!!

TOp Info,

This year I lost about £4,000 on shares and £4,000 in the casino on blackjack and roulette. I regained £1,000 on WHOG and I expect I am on a gamblers roll up now.

You made 12K, that it very good, something that is in my ability to make this year now I know so much more about the tricks of the trade, regarding shares.

A fellow poster called Balti prompted me to start this thread after i had stated that i'd made a minimum 2k per month for the last 8 months spread betting..
I will list my open positions and state when i close them logging profits or loss...i strongly advise a non guaranteed stop loss on all bets which will be on a 3 monthly period...
Latest...CITY INDEX offering no spread on Vodafone...luvely jubbly!

2003 has obviously been a fantastic year after the war in Iraq was over in March/April time and there has been some serious gainers in individual stocks and the Indices themselves if you are a spread better as well. This is totally voluntary but just thought it might be interesting to see how much we have all made in 2003. Personally I could have made an absolute fortune if I had kept certain stocks that I had at rock bottom prices and I mean the very bottom but thats life. these included NTX, ARM,C+W, TFC. TRK, SPT, just to name a few, but theres no point dwelling over things that are no longer in my porfolio.
Anyway honest answers only from those who wish to participate, no need for loads of comments, just a cash figure...And dont worry I am not from the Inland Revenue trying to catch you out on Capital Gains.
Me personally, up about £12,000!
