Well i think it's a move to their early roots but I only found Matallica
in the mid to 90s so really compare every thing to pre-mentioned album but I did like the S&M with the live orchestra..... Let me know you opinion of the new one when you get it.

what do you think of the new St Anger album...im a bit diappointed but thats probably because I prefer the heavy rock anthems on metallica's metallica

my type of music is of a heavy variety ie mettallica, cradle of filth, ac/dc(have most of cd's), iron maiden, ozzy, audioslave etc..

fav cover version is whiskey in a jar, by metallica.

too long to post but VH1 have just release their poll of the top 100 records
of the last 25 years....not sure about some of the order but some great ones
in there. Not sure about Eninem though?????? Take a look

I know the originals are the best but:-

Have you heard Oasis' version of My Generation. It's almost as if he was born to sing it and I am the Walrus, which was performed completely tanked up in front of all the A&R guys which got them their record deal. They are still reported to be the only band to sing I am the walrus live...

I subscribe to record collector mag every month and have done since it started. Its the best resource for prices on all formats, you'll find the Stones' record in theie price guide which has jus been published for this year.



I think Oasis are OK but those soundalikes, Stereophonics and especially Coldplay just irritate me. I prefer something a little more edgy like the White Stripes or the Aphex Twin. Having said that Johnny Cash's 'Hurt' is never out of my CD player!

The Eagles.....I have a DVD "Hell freezes Over" which is a live concert in 1994 not sure where it was in the US but it was obviously a reunion type thing but Hotel California live .....brilliant!!

Have to be honest Im not a great fan of the Beatles, like them but not a fan but why would I be wasnt even born when they were around :-) But think thats the great thing about Music is that it's very individual to the listener.

Eva has/had one of the most pure voices of the modern era imo. Obviously the story behind her makes it all the more powerful. I dont know if you ever saw the live performance of S.O.T.R on BBC which launched her career after her death in the UK but and an article by her other half recenly described how ill she was during that and it makes it all the more amazing.

personally i am very keen on the phil spectre sound.....puts goose bumps down my neck. plus a relatively recent musical phenonemom...eva cassidy. i never ever thought i would enjoy listening to anyone singing " somewhere over the rainbow " but its AWESOME

I have to own up to liking the odd Spandau Ballet tune every now and then plus a Billy Joel also. As long as the music is creative enough to creat an emotion with it I will listen to it. But I have be know to fall asleep listening to Iron Maiden on a walkman! LOl.

Superrod so do you like any of David Gray's stuff. V Good imo. There is some great stuff out at the moment but you have to look for it. Unfortunately the way music is marketed and controlled, especially the charts, it's hard for good music to break through to get on the mainstream radio play lists.It took David Gray 2 or 3 albums before he became a hit. I wonder how many more are out there.

interesting review but the stereophonics are one of the ( many ) bands i can only listen to in short bursts.....my age i know, but its good that so many relative youngsters such as yourself take an active interest in our musical heritage.

did you see the beatles film a few weeks ago? magic ( a hard days night )

take it from me guys/gals......never sell any vinyl until you are retired. it will pay for your world cruise. an album im trying to get valued at present is "sticky fingers" by the stones. it has a real zip instead of artwork...anyone got an idea?

I lived abroad in the middle east until I was 11 so only ever heard Elvis ( my mums favorite) and Sky (my Dad's) so when I came back to England the first song I heard was Tainted Love..dont think it will be of any value...it's the LP with tainted love and Say Hello, wave goodbye etc on. Havent got it here with me so
not sure of the title.
