09/5/2008 14:08 | wirral ... get the idea they are jumping it up and down to put off buyers ? Getting cheap shares ready for sale of the factoring business should rerate this to high teens maybe more, just instills a bit of confidence ... i see it as a good recovery playing like JSG. I only have 20k here due to current risk but patience is required here for good gains IMHO Patience is what a lot of people who invest in the stock market have little of ... 08/5/2008 14:12 | Hi Davius, your comments noted. As to how the company got into this mess I'm not sure I agree that the credit crunch is much to blame at all. This looks to me like new management trying to clear all the skeletons out of the cupboard in one fell swoop and misjudging market reaction. They probably expected a bit of a wobble on the share price with gradual recovery afterwards but got it badly wrong. I'm in for the ride as well but have no great expectation that current management will restore shareholder value. We'll see. | city girl
08/5/2008 13:35 | Note your comment ihavenoclue. I was just guessing that any new shares would have to be issued at a discount on current share price maybe i'm wrong. At no discount they need to issue approx 140m shares, at 30% discount they'd need to issue approx 200m shares. I just don't see the market rushing in to take up between 140m-200m shares do you? | city girl
07/5/2008 23:16 | There is no fund raising until they have sold the factoring business and completed the review of the lending side. The company has already given guidance on this matter. DYOR | grlz
07/5/2008 22:21 | Can't see what the problem is myself, companies can very easily raise their current market cap or a lot more via a placing or rights issue if the market can sustain it. The issue is how the extra cash affects the business. In theory raising say £14m and selling off or closing the unprofitable parts of the business could result in profits of perhaps £10m (finger in the air job that one) next year, plenty to justify a market cap of £100m, way above what the current share price is even if diluted by 50%. I think the question of fundraising is a bit of a red herring. The management got the company into its current mess (the credit crunch can take much of the blame though), the issue is do investors believe they can sort it out and return to profitability, as suggested at the AGM? I'd not bet my house on it, but I'm prepared to give them the benefit of doubt with a small investment. | davius
07/5/2008 21:39 | where the hell did you get the extra 60 million from ? Work on your deramping a little IMHO | ihavenoclue
07/5/2008 16:13 | Denmark - just picking up on your comments. At current share price they need to issue in the region of 140m new shares to raise the capital shortfall. Taking issue costs into consideration and discount on issue price the number rises to more like 200m new shares? They've only got 142m shares in issue as it is so how are they going to successfully issue 140m / 200m new shares. A rights issue just isn't going to work is it? I just don't see it. | city girl
07/5/2008 16:05 | This shares really LOVES 10.5p ... volatility has been either side of that figure. | ihavenoclue
07/5/2008 09:14 | Well the pre 9am surge has occurred ... post 9am drop going to happen again ? | ihavenoclue
07/5/2008 08:22 | it is very interesting that lsb has an authorised share capital of 200m shares and issued capital of 142.373m shares. so they have a maximum of 58m shares they could issue unless lsb amends the nominal value from 10p to a lower value. regulatory capital shortfall of £13.8m @ 31 march 08 will be bridged with equity issuance. lsb's share price has to move pretty quickly for them to proceed with this route. lsb will soon have to inform the market. dyor | demark
06/5/2008 10:18 | Davius ... didn't it do that at 5p for a while before the rise ? | ihavenoclue
06/5/2008 09:48 | What is it with this stock, always rises and then retraces, almost uncanny. Can we reverse this and move back up today? | davius
