    Board Changes



    Following the recent relaunch of Jazz FM the Board of The Local Radio Company PLC ("the Company") is pleased to announce the following
Board changes which will take effect immediately:

    Richard Wheatly is standing down as Executive Chairman of the Company to become Executive Chairman of the Company's subsidiary Jazz FM
and a Non Executive Director of The Local Radio Company PLC. 

    Jazz FM represents a major growth opportunity for the Company and the Board believes its continued development has the potential to
deliver significant value to shareholders. In his new roles Richard will be able to focus on capturing the opportunities available to the
Company through Jazz FM and its associated businesses, whilst continuing to play a strategic role in the ongoing development of The Local
Radio Company as a whole.

    Anthony Gumbiner, who through Hallwood Investments Limited holds 28.26% of the issued share capital of the Company, will become Non
Executive Chairman of The Local Radio Company PLC. Anthony was previously a Non Executive Director of the Company. 

    Alistair Mackenzie, Finance Director, will become Chief Operating Officer of The Local Radio Company PLC. In his new role Alistair will
assume responsibility for the day to day management of the Company as well as its finances.

    Rhys Davies, who is a director of Hallwood Investments Limited, will become Investment Director with responsibility for managing all
investments and divestments as well as representing the Company on the boards of its investee companies, Jazz FM, First Radio Sales and
Quadrant Media. Rhys is currently a Non Executive Director of the Company.

    With effect from 9 October Andrew Fennell has been appointed Company Secretary of The Local Radio Company PLC.

    Richard Wheatly said:

shareholder, the presence of the skills and experience to deliver growth through Jazz FM and the optimisation of our existing local radio
business, I believe the Board is now very well positioned to deliver our objectives. I am delighted that Tony has taken on the role of
Chairman of the Company at this exciting time and I am very much looking forward to working with him and the rest of the Board in the
future."
