Both good points Adae. I am expecting this to go higher. The trading volumes have been pretty high last couple of days. I get the sense (no more than that) that something interesting is happening in the background…just a hunch but I have been adding. DYOR.

The director buys appear to have ended, Chairman was buying at over £1 recently.

And no come-back from the Rowles-Davies sacking? Would have surely heard by now.

I suspect someone is shorting this and has been on and off for some time. It makes sense that there would be some salty individuals associated with LIT given the unsavoury goings on at the exec level. Fact is the market cap is underpinned by the NBV and that should increase dramatically over the next couple of years.

Definitely due to bounce from here. RSI has not been this low since the shock at the beginning of the pandemic!

They likely have already - this would be business as usual and would not be notified to the market. Next results should be great.

Once the current settlements hit the bottom line shortly it's hard to see any downside.

Apart from general market and economic weakness (which is good for LIT) there is no real reason I can think of for the recent fall. People may be getting inpatient waiting for confirmation of the second close of the new fund (was stated to close by year end so getting close).

Trimmed a bit of BUR (which has been strong recently) and added a bit to LIT, which has been weak for no apparent reason. BUR is still my much bigger position, but felt a bit of rebalancing required.

I couldn't resist a small buy at just over 90p. News soon, of course.....

It was my main position and it was getting a little too dominant, but now is the time for shopping with some of the bargains I can see and so despite me loving LIT, it has to be cut down to size I'm afraid.

Its a great move, I still think LIT is a wonderful business and I still have a relatively chunky position on.

Surprised at the weakness in last couple of days. I think LIT are in a good position. I watched Gervaise Williams Mello presentation and he referred to some weaker funds having to sell their better stocks to provide liquidity. I'm guessing but maybe that is an explanation here ? So I'm with the bear, also adding. As ever DYOR.

Yeah I looked at the history of Burford a while back and noted the similarity to LIT in the first few years of listing. The turning point seems to have been the Jan 2015 trading update that included;

“Material increase in cash generation: Burford generated $63 million of cash from the investment portfolio in 2014, an increase of 97% over 2013's level“

Given LIT said the following in its interims

“Portfolio of direct investments well progressed with three investments resolved and awaiting payment or resolution of appeals, four direct investments had final hearings and are awaiting judgment and four direct investments have or expect hearing dates scheduled before end of 2022“

It feels as if we are on the cusp of a similar step change in portfolio cash generation which can then be reinvested in new cases. Is the market (II’s) waiting to see clear evidence of operational success & the start of compounding before committing to the story?

The chairman certainly thinks now is the time to load up as do Collins St. who now own 12.2% of the company vs 8.8% this time last year.
