11/1/2015 19:47 | Good luck to you too, I agree totally with your comment. This is one of those shares I will take the risk and hold and see what happens, if it comes right it will be a moment to remember. If not you lose your risk money which you were willing to lose in the first place. I am a long term holder of a few , after holding for a while, I know it is better to hold a few as there is no way of getting in once things improve. AS they are talking to CNOOC even if prelim and something comes of it I prefer to have a few in case. This is all in my own opinion and no advice is intended. sideshow | sideshowbull
09/1/2015 12:12 | "Energy Secretary Jericho Petilla said the talks between London-based Forum Energy and China National Offshore Oil Corporation, or CNOOC, were at a preliminary stage. He added a commercial agreement could hopefully be reached despite the long-raging disputes over the Reed Bank. The talks were being held abroad, mostly recently in Hong Kong, he said". | sideshowbull
09/1/2015 12:05 | Actually, they are not talking yet: “We’ve requested a meeting with them but they have not responded yet”, he added. | earnestwipplethwaiteiii

09/1/2015 11:57 | That article was from yesterday so at least they are taking. | sideshowbull
09/1/2015 11:52 | The problem is that CNOOC does what it is told by the CPC government; by agreeing to even talk with the Filipino side China would be admitting some degree of claim over Reed Bank by the Philippines. Historically, China has shown absolutely no flexibility with any of the littoral countries since they started to claim over 90% of the South China Sea (the so-called "9-dash line" claim). The Philippines and China currently are barely on speaking terms in any case. Those are the reasons I think there is not a chance any JV will happen. | earnestwipplethwaiteiii
09/1/2015 11:27 | If they manage a deal with CNOOC which we knew was the only way this was going to progress the share price will rocket holding thumbs.. | sideshowbull
09/1/2015 11:27 | Good luck to holders but personally I think they haven't a hope in agreeing a joint venture when the two countries are entrenched poles apart on the issue of sovereignty. | earnestwipplethwaiteiii
09/1/2015 09:43 | Bit of interest in our little dog. With our free float of less than 3m shares won't take much to see it fly again. | sideshowbull
22/12/2014 18:01 | Andrew Mullins sold the shares he received under the share option at £2 per share to the parent company. The £2 share price offer was not made available to other shareholders. | cfccfc1970
18/12/2014 11:21 | From memory I think he and some others took and sold their options. Very wise, this Sampaguita dispute with the Chinese is not going to go away in the next few years in my opinion. The Chinese are if anything becoming ever more assertive. Of course there's value elsewhere but the share will always be overshadowed by the impasse with SC72. | earnestwipplethwaiteiii
18/12/2014 11:14 | I think it was ONLY £2 didn't all the directors get bought out? | fireplace22
18/12/2014 11:10 | Mullins proved not to be a muggins a couple of years ago. What was it, £3? | earnestwipplethwaiteiii
18/12/2014 11:02 | Oil price of minimal interest here, SC72 required for true potential to happen. | fireplace22

18/12/2014 10:56 | Be interesting to see if that was part of a large holding and therefore rns'd....357k is just over 1% | sportbilly1976
18/12/2014 09:23 | looking very sickly today, especially after yesterdays big late sell at 18p! | fireplace22
29/10/2014 17:03 | Philex Petroleum loss widens on SC 6A impairment charge Today, 5:02 PM PHILEX Petroleum Corp.’s net loss widened in the nine months ending September, dragged down by a subsidiary's impairment charges associated with its withdrawal from a petroleum contract. | joan1234
20/10/2014 09:09 | This is an interesting development, maybe the Philippines next?, can't see why it would just be Vietnam, perhaps China wanting to concentrate on it Russian alliance, and don't need these local spats taking up it's time? | jonno1 |
