EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT

Leyshon Energy (AIM:LEN) is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Jan Michael Meggs (aged 61) as an Executive Director with immediate effect.

Tony has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Most recently he served as an Executive Vice-President for Talisman Energy, and prior to this was a Group Vice President of BP, where he served as the Head of Group Technology until April 2008. Prior to this, Tony was a Group Vice President in BP's upstream business with responsibility for activities in Trinidad, Argentina, Bolivia, Algeria, Egypt Gas and Azerbaijan Gas as well as functional responsibility for Global Drilling, Reservoir Management and Supply Chain Management.

Tony's career with BP began in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska where he was Reservoir Engineering Supervisor with Sohio in the mid 1980s, and became Manager of Resource Development in the early 1990s following the acquisition of Sohio by British Petroleum. He has also been responsible for various BP operations in the North Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.

Prior to joining BP, Tony held reservoir management positions with Exxon, involving operations in South Texas and the North Sea.

Tony has also spent time at MIT, where he co-chaired the influential MIT Energy Initiative report on the Future of Natural Gas.

He earned an M.A. in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and M.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College. He is a Graduate Fellow of the Sloan Program of the Stanford Business School. Tony resides in London.

Tony has no shareholding in the Company. During the past five years he was a director of the following companies C12 Energy LLC, Deepwater Wind LLC, Green Rock Energy LLC, and Garden State Offshore Energy.
