Mrkirv, PA already has over £500,000 worth of shares here, i know that he sort of paid himself back with the bonus but he still has alot of cash here, Ian middlemas the Australian investor still has a considerable amount here, he rarely makes a loss on his investments, i agree it would be good if other members of the BOD buy in.

Bear in mind that the buy back - if conducted - will reduce the company's cash to some extent. Far better to get genuine broader market interest.

I'd rather see - in the present circumstances - the cash be conserved for exploration and development purposes, which is after all why this company was set up.

Has your previous experience with the company ever encountered buy backs?

Phalen read my post again, Iam not talking about the long term gain, prediction for 2weeks based on my experience with this share.

Agree phalen, it appears that it's off most peoples radars at present but a great opportunity to buy a company under cash value with a potentially very large asset. The buy backs as you suggest should also have a very good impact!

£18mln in the bank & currently 10.25mln Mcap!!
250mln shares in issue .Only 20% of that in free float

Now from the AGM.........

The board recognises that there is some work to do in rebuilding value. The resolution was passed to enable the board to purchase $500k worth of buy backs to give some money back to existing shareholders and support the sharp price with "housekeeping" purchases.

now what will the above do to the share price :0)))? 250mln shares in issue an only 20% in free float

Even a dummy could win on this one :0)))

Current buy price 4.25p, can trade well within the spread. When volumes pick up it won't be so wide. Expecting a rise up to cash position before any further news. GLA

Few buys this morning. Current CASH position is equivalent to 6p per share, asset priced at ZERO. Very off the radar this one at present.

Thanks UpTheDiff, good summary and very upbeat. Cash position alone should see us higher than current sp, prospect looks very good and a very strong BoD moving forward. GLA

From a poster on III

"As highlighted before I'm an existing shareholder and have been for nearly three years. I'm happy to update you guys on today's AGM.

It was the first AGM as Leyshon Energy and all the major decision makers were there and available for questioning. The presentation presented at the meeting has been uploaded online:

My summary
Let's not make a mistake. This is an exploration company and currently not making any profit. For that carries the highest risk and should therefore be reflected in the percentage of your portfolio.

The presentation explains a lot but the board basically made it clear that they are a) committed to look after the shareholders and b) to develop this resource.

To a)
The board recognises that there is some work to do in rebuilding value. The resolution was passed to enable the board to purchase $500k worth of buy backs to give some money back to existing shareholders and support the sharp price with "housekeeping" purchases.

The board also told us that they've been focusing on getting the right people into place and are now in a position to focus on a good communications strategy mirroring the pre-merger Leyshon Resources one. It was basically agreed to "restart the news flow". Both of these are a big plus for me.

to b)
At the end of the day it's exploration so we don't know what's in the ground and how commercial it will flow, but we are committed to spend the $25 mil cash on developing he asset over the next 18-24 months.

The board is very qualified and has the connections to finance so the example of Green Dragon was given who recently raised 100mil at CRR (pilot production) and the aim is to mirror that.

The next step is to spend 4mil for testing well7 and drilling well8 in zone one which is the most promising. The existing wells take a bit of a back burner and may be revisited later.

I'll sort out my notes and publish some more info later.

I think what makes the AGM different from Tom W's article (followed by a 35% drop in share price) is that the whole board was available and the present institutional investors and the board are excited about the prospect and the data of the "offset data" (data gathered by neighbouring developers).

The current cash balance is 6p a share (but that doesn't mean much as all has been committed for the 18-24 months development programme).

I'm giving this a buy rating as the opportunity is tempting but investors have to be aware that it's high risk (no current income)"

More importantly people are buying again even with such a large spread. The screw finally might be turning here.

Eleven straight buys and the MM's don't move the price up.

If there was one sell they would probably move it down

"I am delighted that we have received very strong indications of financial support should we find the right opportunity. " $25 million minus $4m for the extending testing then $17m for further drilling. What else did they say?

No question of any share placings. They have $25 million in the bin worth 6p a share and have promised both a share buyback programme and director share purchases. Very positive AGM and well attended. Fidelity have built an 8 per cent stake and I can only see upside from hereon. Promised news flow on resumed test programme in Ordoz basin and have debt facilities lined up for acquisition.

"been offered opportunities to work with the major state owned energy Companies CNOOC" I guess this would be the offshore exploration leases up for grabs.

Hopefully some finer details come out of the meeting.

Sounds like they are thinking of funding acquisitions with debt or further placings. Not what an already depressed share price needs. Look forward to a report from those attending. Let me have it!

With Zijinshan having potentially over 1 tcf of gas, I'm looking forward to seeing the appraisal underway soon. GLA
