I can not stand to read the lex column nowadays. Every day it is subprime this and that, bearish stuff .
Until LEX gets back to a balanced view of the market - I stop reading the FT.

Hmmm....you've got all the angles covered it seems. I got mine out of Ian Blowers and yes, I did pay £6,500 for it, fully sealed and the paperwork showed 'The Oriental Watch Company' as the selling dealer which is great cos they are the most reputable dealership in the Far East.

Unfortunately, love nor money will part me with my Daytona, I simply like it too much. However, I will say this :- When I was hunting around for one, I was quoted £8K+ in some places and even in Dubai Duty Free (where I thought they might have been ignorant :@)), they were asking for $11,000 (around £7.5K at the exchange rate in those days).

So to be honest, I found Blowers to be reasonable in comparison + my watch has the latest 44 jewel Rolex movement, not the Zenith one they used to buy in and is Y-serial numbered indicating late (Q3,Q4) 2002-2003 (Q1, Q2) production.

I looked around a lot before buying and I doubt you will find one cheaper (brand new that is) unless demand for them starts to rapidly soften!!

I also recommend you buy new rather than getting a second-hand one and trying to save a couple of grand. I personally wouldn't - there's no telling where people put their hands (and arms) these days!! LOL!!

Cheers.
I live near Hull and have been into Blowers but I refuse to be ripped off by their prices. I know you have to pay over list for a 116520 model Daytona but they want £6500-£6800 for one. But if you offer one to them for sale which I did to see how much they give they said about £4000-£4500, I mean thats a cool profit seen as they have people and themselves abusing the lists by putting names and deposits down all over the place and then reselling them for more. Thats why hardly anyone on these lists ever gets them coz its all dealers and its a con..Anyway I would pay upto 5 grand for a newish one, no more or Ill wait my other 3 years on the list.

Well guys this has risen 10% in the last 7 working days and is about to breach the 450p BID - if it holds above that bid price the rest of the week I feel it could get back to above the 500p mark by en dof September.

My options at 259p looking good every day.

Clerman and Logica2me keep the good work up now that I've left the place.
