08/7/2022 10:01 | Based on yesterday's trading statement, this is one of the safest plays in my opinion. The markets will always play with prices but if you just look at the companies fundamentals then this has to be a good home for your cash. I am adding on dips, enjoying the divi and holding for the long term. | tuftymatt
08/7/2022 09:55 | I’m pretty certain you have some form of disability Of the brain Ron you ever been checked buddy! | 123trev

08/7/2022 09:11 | Added further to my position in LGEN this morning. Quite happy with a solid 7.7% yield and potential decent capital growth. | woodhawk
08/7/2022 08:00 | What’s that Trevor? | rongetsrich
07/7/2022 22:23 | Can't see that the cretin was active today. Maybe his dolls were having a party. | rongetsrich

07/7/2022 18:10 | I added today as also thought a good update with strong forward guidance. 8% div yield looks well covered. Differentiated from AV. and MNG (both of which are decent holdings). I prefer insurers to banks, as I feel the business's have some pricing power and regardless of the economy, which effects the broking side, the core insurance business is pretty sound and annuity business a good place to be IMO | waterloo01
07/7/2022 17:14 | Thought this morning's update was very positive Disappointed didn't get reflected in share price today but then today that applied to the majority of my shareholdings Av.Phnx,MNG.all much of a muchness my only proper winners were Barclays and Lloyds Still a win is a win and not long now till dividends hopefully they won t disappoint Good luck everyone Enjoy the weather | jubberjim
07/7/2022 15:08 | I just ignore posters like that kiotzak | dope007
07/7/2022 14:53 | CWAObviously Woodhawk hasn't got the message about being well mannered to other posters.Dope, whatever your thoughts, they are equally as valid as his/ hers. | klotzak
07/7/2022 13:19 | Totally; grow the divi a bit and keep the high solvency buffer Keep RoE > 20 percent And all bodes well If the U.K. markets didn't re-rate - then just keep rolling the divis into the sp | williamcooper104
07/7/2022 13:14 | Big capital buffers into a downturn can also equate to a decent war chest when others with less capital are hit hard | dope007
07/7/2022 13:06 | Agree with all that apart from the ref to the solvency ratio. At times like this a big buffer is a sensible option. Things can change quickly and also having room to be flexible is a good idea. | rcturner2
07/7/2022 12:55 | An unexpected trading statement from LGEN ahead of Interims on 9 Aug, perhaps a sign they are also fed up with the share price clobbered by all sorts of fears while the business is performing well and credit rating remains strong. As has been commented on here at length LGEN suffers volatility and market sentiment driven by the macro economic backdrop which is not so closely correlated with LGENs own performance outlook. Do we believe it when Nigel writes LGENs "exposure to inflation is minimal"? Well yes so far anyway, the business has been performing strongly and the pipeline looks as busy as expected. The sort of update which will appeal to ultra-conservative long term income investors and no doubt bring a slew of favourable comment from media tipsters. We should be very confident with the safety and progression of the dividend. And yet very frustrated by the share price Conflicting emotions. The absurd 215% solvency coverage ratio is absurd. Why isn't that surplus capital being better deployed for higher business return? LGEN as safe as houses but behaving a bit like you are built on sand. While at the same time in negotiation with government to relax the solvency rules. Face and palm. There is almost a case developing for separating the conservative from the more adventurous parts of the business? Or a buyback? Or dare I say it a new CEO, a huge fan of Nigel in whom we can trust but while the shares are persistently trading at a 30% discount something is wrong. | marktime1231
07/7/2022 11:54 | Dope007, "+8p a a truely pathetic rise" What an idiotic comment. You're not an investor, go and buy a lottery ticket instead. | woodhawk
07/7/2022 11:54 | Agreed. And when this undervaluation is recognised by a foreign company by way of a bid, that is normally blocked! spud | spud
07/7/2022 11:52 | Considering the recent falls +8p a a truely pathetic rise and symptomatic of the ongoing uselessness of UK mkts. I will happily add a collect the dividends but this is exactly why UK plc and consistently sold off abroad | dope007
07/7/2022 11:39 | Business looks in very good shape | tommygriff
07/7/2022 11:25 | It's rare to see a trading statement where you read 'strong' so many times and see that they are growing profits sustainably. It's a sleep easy share. | mo123
07/7/2022 11:06 | Fine update this morning. I shall be further adding to my large position in LGEN as funds allow and the current fire sale continues. | woodhawk |
