12/5/2010 16:49 | Price been weakening now retailers are on thin margins and health conscious consumers not interested in all that fatty stuff. Thoroughtly illiquid stock any buyers will get locked in and hammered on exit. | ls lowry
12/5/2010 10:09 | mm's happily taking stock from sellers at a premium. Results on 25th May or there abouts: 6 January 2010 Lees Foods plc ("Lees" or the "Company") Trading Update Record sales at Lees of Scotland and Waverley Bakery Lees Foods Plc, owners of Lees of Scotland and The Waverley Bakery has announced today 6 January 2010 an update to its 2009 trading performance. Group sales from continuing operations closed at GBP18.2m for the year to December 2009 which compares to GBP16.1m in 2008, an increase of 13%. In addition 2009 sales are around 5% ahead of current market forecasts. This was due to exceptionally strong sales in the lead up to Christmas and was also helped by an unexpected increase in the number of customers ordering stock at the year end for January promotions. Continuing pre tax profits for 2009 are expected to be well ahead of market expectations. Clive Miquel, Chief Executive, commented: "We are pleased to report a strong second half performance in 2009 that has led to excellent sales both at Lees of Scotland and The Waverley Bakery. In the current economic climate our strategy has been to focus on our core operations, and this combined with the development of new products allowing us to sell into new product categories, has resulted in a record year for sales at Lees". -------------------- Directors buying shares, co just done a big share buyback too. Screaming cheap imo - reckon the fwd PE may be 5 or less. CR | cockneyrebel
04/5/2010 12:03 | Results in just 3 weeks - on this valuation and the co saying they are 'well ahead' plus the fat 7p final divi or larger the they look screaming cheap to me. CR | cockneyrebel
16/4/2010 16:48 | I'm still here waiting too Davidosh - recon these will liven up before the results. CR | cockneyrebel

19/2/2010 10:46 | 65K share buy back and cancellation - that will add 2.5% to eps next year. I bought more today - you can actually buy below mid - that 4K and 3K in the past few days are actually buys, not sells. CR | cockneyrebel
24/1/2010 13:13 | No, one of the rades was mine, the others were by pals of mine. There was 10K+ available online on Friday - obviously a seller about but that's the time to buy imo. I looked at these at the interims but the stock wasn't available - took my eye of the ball a bit thinking I might not get any but after them saying results will be 'well ahea' and I can still buy at below the price level when they said that then the time looked right - seeing I could get a meaningful amount. I see a 13K sell went through after the buying so that looks like a seller getting shot of the stock to fill our buying imo. You're right tho - if that had been me hitting away online for several buys the mm's might not have been happy and could have even cancelled the trades were they tight for stock. 22/1/2010 14:22 | Hi This_is_Me, I bought in today H1 sales: £8.8m, 11.7p eps. They have now said they will do £18.2m sales for the year So £9.4m sales in H2. Recently said they will be significantly ahead - latest forecasts 23p. PE 6.8 or less for the year gone. Must be lower going fwd. You get one divi a year too - a final divi of 6.7p or 4% roughly. Can buy at 166.5p today as there's a little bit of stock about but it is illiquid. Been some very good director buying recently. So, 166.5p to buy, get the final divi of 6.7p then youve paid 159p net. Say they do just 26p eps this coming year then the PE is 6. The mkt cap is just under £4m and they have £4m of property and cash. Results in Feb. | cockneyrebel
06/1/2010 09:00 | Excellent news! Nicely in profit now and looking good for the long term. | this_is_me
06/1/2010 08:18 | Hi 2b - looked at LEE a while back but lack of liquidity & disputes put me off. I'll take another look. | louisr2
05/1/2010 22:59 | Busy thread! So ... Main mkt. listing, Profitable, Pays a divi., Owns 'brands', Has a territory, Recent dispute resolved. Would Duke Street [private equity] consider bolting LEE on to 'Adelie'? Good complementary fit imo.. 2b.. | 2baffled
13/9/2005 07:47 | A quick read of the results suggests eps for full year nicely above 24p and PE around 9 on share price of 230p. Never come across these before, will keep an eye open. | jonwig
11/7/2005 19:37 | Manufacture of Confectionary Products | cezary |
