23/1/2013 11:41 | As long as it's better than 1x short, I think it's ok. he goal is to short the market, now whether it's 1x, 1.3x or 1.5x that's fine. | ![]() blondeamon
23/1/2013 11:01 | Been doing some reading on these short ETF's, not impressed whatsoever. Personally l would only ever use a CFD. -- "Why a short ETF won't protect your portfolio in a bear market" "Short and leveraged short ETFs are a mathematical disaster, unless held for just a single day," warns Andrew Wilson, head of investment at advice group Towry. "Unless the market moves in a straight line you are going to perform less well than you had imagined." | smurfy2001
20/1/2013 20:32 | So where do you guys see this heading tomorrow and rest of week? Are you going long or short? (talking about this week only) | ![]() blondeamon
20/1/2013 20:19 | Nice v shaped bottom forming imo. Is this a candidate for the "show me a bowl forming" thread? | eric76
20/1/2013 19:59 | No. Google it and you will see he is talking rubbish. | ![]() miata
20/1/2013 10:18 | Somebody warned us about "contango" (relating to SUK2) Is this an extra danger with SUK2, which doesnt affect normal FTSE shorting ??? | ben nevis
20/1/2013 09:43 | ''way to short it'' ..well there is in a way as you know..buy the opposite etf | ![]() badtime
20/1/2013 09:15 | If those buy targets in the header keep adjusting downwards long enough, they will eventually be right !! | ![]() kaffee
19/1/2013 07:15 | Yes,market is definitely risk on and I think despite no doubt wobbling later in the year, the market wants to put doom and gloom behind it. Even if the macro is still stagnant in western economies. This egf will continue to slide in 2013 hence I have decided now not to touch it. If only there was a way to short it! Alas not. And options are not for me. Suk2 will continue to burn those who buy it. | ![]() buffett100bln
18/1/2013 15:44 | This is the smallest price SUK2 has seen since it was created. The rally continues? | ![]() blondeamon
16/1/2013 18:10 | "SUK2 and the like is only usefull if you can pick the day the market will drop." If I could pick the day the market will drop I would close all my long positions. As I can't predict the day, the opportunity is there to hedge (at least in part) when the market gets toppy. | ![]() valhamos
16/1/2013 17:43 | You shouldn't agree with all of that, it is incorrect. | ![]() miata
16/1/2013 17:19 | I agree with all of that. Doesn't stop me trying lol, stupid as I am! I do think though that there's a case for after such a strong run post fiscal cliff, markets need to build better value into themselves and sell off (not by much more than a few hundred points), perhaps in the run up to the debt ceiling being raised? You know how it is, people worry etc... There's always a case for markets falling though! In this mad print pump world of free money, equities seem to have a life of their own despite the rubbish macro. | ![]() buffett100bln
16/1/2013 16:29 | Buffett SUK2 and the like is only usefull if you can pick the day the market will drop. Anotherwords use in a day trade.longer than one day its value moves against you.No one here seems to be able to pick those days(apart from the hindsight fantasy traders)so my advice is stay well away. | ![]() stopps
16/1/2013 09:51 | so do people on here think the santa rally is done and a retrace is due on the ftse into Feb? If so..this could be a good buy in level at £26.35 ? Who knows. | ![]() buffett100bln
15/1/2013 13:53 | took some DS2P DAX short yesterday. DAX rallied hard in 2012 and time for a breather | ![]() mister md
14/1/2013 16:33 | Yes. Its a lead signal for a movement, big money tends to be informed money. Not in the very short term (subsequently it will be arbitraged in-line). It would. | ![]() miata
14/1/2013 16:31 | Does it matter how much someone buys SUK2? it just tracks the prices of the FTSE shares, right? So even if someone bought a billion of SUK2 today it wouldnt matter. (right?) | ![]() blondeamon
14/1/2013 13:11 | Note big buy (£234,000). Going up. | ![]() miata |
