Myntra.com (68 in Alexa rankings compared to 292 for Koovs) announced sales of $80 for July alone. Aiming for $1 Billion sales for end of year.
Balanced article showing that the market is flooded & only the fittest will survive.

10% off today, what's the bad news to come? Or is it the obligatory down spike before good news? Next results not due today September.....

Shame they've sold out!!!

I posted this link nearly a month ago, no stock shortage. I fancied a green one.

Melody- yes agree it's hard to compare BOO to KOOVS. Boohoos's board have been in the rag trade at roots level for decades. The KOOVS board is more executive management orientated.I agree the spending is astronomical & at this stage will never attract conventional investors. But these conventional investors also get it massively wrong. On his own admission, Paul Scott (Paulypilot) sold ASOS at 9p 400,000 shares I think. He said he lost out on a potential £35 million!!These kinds of companies are only for the brave who seek massive rewards. Good luck if you buy back in- I know you like the story here ; )

My sense is that BOO is run by hard nosed and capable businessmen. Whilst KOOV has some experienced management, I am just not as sure that they are as disciplined in their cash spend. Sure they are looking to build a brand, but will they get the best return for the funds at their disposal? I am looking to be convinced but meanwhile ssit and watch.

Don't forget that India is the fastest growing major economy but more importantly, the average age is 27 as opposed to 40 over here. The 'Bollywood' culture is massive as well as the growing middle classes. The aspiring young are making sure that country booms & they've got cash to boot.I've worked with young Indians & still speak to many over there.Koovs & Boohoo are at different stages of their growth curves. I've done brilliantly with Boohoo averaging 28p, but this is the one that excites me the most.

I bought into this one a few weeks ago then changed my mind and quickly got back out again for a small loss.

I am into BOO and intend staying there for the time being, however India is very different from the UK. The population may be 1.3 billion but only something like 150 million have anything like a disposable income and even then it is lower than that which we are used to.

There is also a huge cultural difference. India may be slowly becoming more westernised, but India is a country where people make things last a long time. India was recycling everything before we in the west even thought of the word. I don’t think most young Indian women are into buying something new and cheap as often as possible as are many in the UK. Neither are they into maxing out their credit cards in the same way.

They may get lots of website hits but far too many of those hits will be people just looking.

Altom- interims & Finals are always published a couple of months after the trading period as they are very detailed. Prior to these, there are usually trading statements. So for the 6 month trading update for April May June July August & September, expect a trading statement at the beginning of October.Apparently according to Paul Scott (Paulypilot) buyers here are muppets! Quite a nasty bit of work- especially after a drink or two.

Hare 1038. I would like to think that we will be getting update in a few weeks but as far as I know Interims are due Christmas week and KOOVS don't do quarterly updates. I would be delighted to think we may get news in Sep/Oct. Please tell me if I am wrong.

Telbap - assume you are referring to KOOVS maintaining a prominent position once keywords are typed into search engine. If so would think they use Marble for this purpose amongst other functions.

Telbap- I only got involved in this because of the management credentials. Lord Waheed Alli, Mary Turner & Robert Bready have been there & done it with ASOS.I have total faith in them.Management, management, management!

@ramp and Hare. .....totally agreed with what you both write. Just the inner worrier in me that has seen what Google can do to a company overnight by changing the analytic rules, as they constantly do. I jumped into this at about 25 or 28p, top sliced at 80p, so not really worried. Just want to see it succeed and not get screwed over by Google.....and yes bitter personal experience, lost a company due to Google's games.

Judging by previous trading updates management are very centred on growing their internet traffic with its direct correlation to gross sales and eventually profits. Expect them to have a good story to tell with next update.

Well leat hope for a good one. As you know the e-comm over here have been storming forwards, no reason to think the same biz model won't do the same in India. Everything points that direction. Might top up later this week if the MM's walk the price down, like they love too.

Telbap- I'm fully loaded here but admit that we're some way off from making money here. I'm fully confident in the management here- first class! It's an early stage ecommerce company- so it's normal to spend large in building the brand. 6 month figures in a few weeks time should give us a clue about progress thus far. Nobody has a clue as the company has been very coy & shy about recent trading.

Just checked on Alexa.com. - Koovs is now 297, however, I note that almost 30% of their up stream traffic is driven from Google. Their Google ppc costs will be off the scale. They need to get the Google level down to below 20% to be in with a shout of making some money. I have no idea what Google charge in India but for sure their costs here are astronomical.
