05/12/2008 08:33 | Perhaps we should all pray, wish, cross fingers and stick pins in rival company effigies as nothing else appears to be working. GAM buy more. With a total holding now of 8.10% it's quite a slice of a company that is not appearing to be going anywhere. The present share price if looking at the fundamentals looks very cheap. Problem is an share price is only worth what people are willing to pay. I think we have as much chance of reading the direction of this share as my wife does reading a map. | greekman

29/11/2008 12:18 | sgfund2 The last 12 months EBITDA is £67.2 mil. The Net Debt is £180.2 mil The Market Value of the shares is £61.8 mil. So the EV/EBITDA = 242/67.2 = 3.57 times. (Somewhat higher if you include the deficit on the pension fund). Although that's quite a low level, its twice the multiple that COLT is selling on. OK there's no divi from COLT but its a way better managed company with way better prospects over the long term. What happens if, instead of the long promised turnaround, Managed Services continues its decline? What happens if the local monopoly's profits, as 25cent has suggested, start to head down? Your best hope is that the company raises the white flag and BT can be persuaded to complete its UK coverage. | dickbush
28/11/2008 12:12 | "you all know it and in a years times this is a 4 bagger" You know what, hes right again , only its bin bags that he's talking about. | 25cent

26/11/2008 23:06 | I agree jimtid he is real hero, maybe he should make a move into the movies. I can see him now in some remakes of classics that would work well with Fallen playing himself in the same role everytime. Killer Klowns from Outer Space S.I.C.K. IT Poltergeist Gacy Quick Change It Fear of Clowns Shakes the Clown Vulgar Spawn The Clowns Clown Murders Sleuth Drive Thru Clown house Demonic Toys PAR be carefull still 70 mil to be written off. | 25cent
26/11/2008 23:01 | I also note that the 100 mil loss is due to that fact that they stripped out aprox 120 mil of good will !! So current value of business less all debts is 69 mil current MCAP 59 mil like I said difficult to guage, but a buyer paying 17p a share would appear to be getting a fair return | par12
26/11/2008 19:56 | I am sad to see mr fallon step down. He has steered kcom on a steady path, and has done a great job in dificult times. | jimtid
26/11/2008 07:57 | "Hull's distinctive cream-coloured phone boxes could have a fresh owner in the new year after the city's homegrown telecoms company KCOM in effect put up the "for sale" sign over the business yesterday. The company, which dates back to 1902, announced yesterday the departure of its chief executive and chairman, and launched a review that could lead to a demerger and sale of its businesses." Someone clearly reads this BB ;-) | realcooltrader
25/11/2008 13:00 | Lets hope Fallen was to KCOM what Gil Armelio was to APPL... but does KCOM now have their Steve Jobs at the helm to turn it around? Im not sure and i guess time will tell. Not expecting an Apple turnaround story here again but its just proof of what a change of CEO can do.. providing they have the right men and the right product. | poundsdown
25/11/2008 11:58 | Hi RCT sure he has past form in the business, but kcom need a proven man at the helm, a big hitter. | 25cent
25/11/2008 11:44 | He has a lot of relevant experience in the sector: Wonder how much the strategic review is costing, Cazenove and Oakley can't come cheap? | realcooltrader |
