Kingfisher plc became aware on 29 July 2002 that certain Directors of Kingfisher
plc, whose names are set out below, technically became interested on that date
in 2,657 Kingfisher plc ordinary shares of 155/7p each by virtue of the QUEST
being allotted the shares and the Directors being potential beneficiaries under
the QUEST.

Kingfisher plc also became aware on 29 July 2002 that each of the below-named
Directors of Kingfisher plc technically ceased to be interested on that date in
2,657 Kingfisher plc ordinary shares of 155/7p each by virtue of the QUEST
transferring the shares to employees.

Note:

For Companies Act purposes, certain Directors of Kingfisher plc, whose names are
set out below, together with all employees of the Company, are deemed to have a
technical interest in the shares held in Kingfisher's QUEST.  The interest
ceases when shares are transferred to individuals who exercise their employee
ShareSave scheme options.  Following this transaction, the ESOP held 37,139,193
Kingfisher Ordinary shares of 15 5/7p each.
